"I was lucky enough to be in Rome the day Bonci reopened, and I’d heard so much about it from foodie friends that I was really excited to finally try it. The pizza was good, with unique flavor combinations, though not quite the mind-blowing experience I was expecting. The meatball slice I ordered was actually served cold as it wasn’t warmed up enough, but the flavors still came through nicely. Overall, while it didn’t completely wow me, I’d still recommend a visit—especially given how highly it’s regarded by friends I trust as serious pizza lovers.

"We were quite lucky with our experience at Bonci. We didn’t know much about the place before coming, so our expectations were low—but we were pleasantly surprised! We tried three types of pizza and really enjoyed all of them. Maybe we just happened to make good choices (we picked based on what looked good and our personal preferences), because I’ve seen mixed reviews from others.

We got six pieces of pizza plus one croquette for €26—not exactly cheap, but considering the portion sizes and how filling everything was, it felt reasonable for Rome. They warm up the pizza before serving, so it was hot, crispy, and just delicious. I can imagine it wouldn’t be as good if eaten cold. The mozzarella and potato croquette was also good!

As others have mentioned, there’s no seating. We were lucky to grab the only standing table available to eat on the spot.

Overall, we really enjoyed the pizza and would recommend trying it—just keep in mind the setup and the mixed reviews, and go in with an open mind!"
