"Great place for local dishes. This time I enjoyed the cappelletti above all.
Cosy terrace in the summer.
Friendly service and reasonable priced"

"A reco by our AirBnB hostess and we wandered in at 7:30 and promised to finish before 8:30 bc all tables were reserved. In that hour the whole place filled up with locals and we kept our promise to eat and run. The food was outstanding and priced reasonably based upon other reco’d eateries by our hostess that we walked by on the way to Piazza di Popolo. We split a salad, primi and secondi. Sparking water and some dry white wine for my love. Then one macchiato for me. Bill in photos. At 8:20 when we left the place was full and people ere waiting outside. This on a Tuesday. Reservations helpful."

"We came here on our last day in Ravenna. The food was lovely, the staff were kind about our botched attempts at Italien, and the outdoor seating is in a quiet courtyard, away from the town hubbub and street noise so it was very peaceful.
I would recommend this place for any number of reasons. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!"

Simple, honest food doesn't get any tastier than what's served at this casual, tiny venue (there are about 20 seats at the wooden tables in the wood-beamed space) with an even tinier kitchen. Nicoletta Molducci, chef and owner, takes pride in turning out terrific regional dishes from a short menu with the usual local specialties, such as cappelletti in brodo or al ragù, supplemented by an ever-changing list of daily specials. The polpettine di lesso (little meatballs) in a lively tomato sauce with peas and pancetta, and the squacquerone e fichi caramellati (soft cheese with caramelized figs) are two winning dishes that might be on offer.

Osteria dei Battibecchi // more old-school/traditional than the above, but still good!. We each had pasta to start: lasagna al forno for Husband, and cappelletti with sage and butter for me; both were great, and we both think our order was better than the other’s!. For mains, we shared meatballs in tomato sauce, grilled sausages, and sides of roast potatos and chicory salad, as well as the ubiquitous piadina basket.
RAVENNA WITH KIDS
My favorite restaurant is on a quiet square right off the main Piazza del Popolo: Osteria dei Battibecchi (Via della Tesoreria Vecchia, 16). They serve delicious local specialties, which are well executed but unpretentious. The inside is cozy and charming, while in the summer there is covered outdoor seating on the lovely calm Piazza Unità d’Italia, where kids can play on the built in sunken steps.

My favorite restaurants are L’Osteria dei Battibecchi (a little, hidden place near Teatro Alighieri, address: Via della Tesoreria Vecchia 16), Pizzeria La Mia Patria (located at Filippo Lanciani 6/B, near the Duomo; the place itself is a bit rough, but the pizza is wonderful and the atmosphere very friendly), and Ristorante /Pizzeria Babaleus (located at Vicolo Gabbiani 7).

Another place to try piadina with the typical cheese from Ravenna, squacquerone, is at Osteria dei Battibecchi (Via Della Tesoreria Vecchia, 16) a small but charming restaurant that’s slightly hidden. We had a wild asparagus, which were in season, served in two different ways, followed by piadina and squacquerone with caramelized fig marmalade. This combination was divine!
