The nostalgic 50s ambiance adds to the charm, making it a unique dining destination. "Located just out of the city centre of Parma.
As arriving to the restaurant i felt like starring in one of Godfathers film trilogy.
Everything exhale the vibe and the air of the 50s.
Great pasta, nice wine selection, and dont miss out the housemade ice cream trolley.
Zampayone was superb!
Service was trully professional and friendly!
Everything was top!
Thank you!"

"A truly special experience.
If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation at Ai Due Platani, take it—and then clear your day. This is the kind of lunch that unfolds slowly and beautifully, where time is measured in courses and glasses of wine, not minutes.
Don’t eat breakfast. Seriously. Come hungry, relaxed, and ready to surrender to the rhythm of the meal. Let the courses happen to you. The pasta is exceptional, the secondi are comforting and bold, and the house-made gelato is an absolute must. No matter how full you think you are, make room.
The staff has a rare warmth—offering thoughtful wine pairings and even calling a taxi for you when it’s time to rejoin the real world. If you’re seated outdoors in July, dress for the heat—but don’t worry, the ambiance more than makes up for it.
This is the kind of meal that reminds you why you came to Italy in the first place. Take your time. Enjoy the pace. Good luck."

"Tortelli di zucca. Don't think about it. Just order this as many times as you can, and you will never get enough, or better. Known to make the best tortelli di zucca in the world, believe it or not"

It's not easy to define the concept of a contemporary trattoria - one that naturally suits Italy (almost) effortlessly. However, Ai Due Platani is undoubtedly a daily manifesto of many ideal characteristics (as well as being awarded Tre Gamberi in the guide): competence and knowledge of the craft, a culture deeply rooted in the territory and its history (not necessarily being from the area: the owner is from Mantua); absolute respect for the quality and freshness of ingredients. Lastly, there's attention to price, accessible to all.

Parma: Italy's Best Kept Secret
The next day we arrived early, on bicycle, at Trattoria Ai Due Platani (Strada Budellungo, 104/a, Coloreto, Parma), also a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. The manager came out to the front courtyard to shake our hands, chat with us about our holiday in Italy and our move to London, and assure us that the restaurant would be open very soon. After the requisite torta fritta and Prosciutto di Parma, we enjoyed risotto and ravioli di cognilio (rabbit ravioli).
