What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Osteria Mangia e Bevi is celebrated for its authentic Sicilian cuisine, fresh ingredients, and welcoming atmosphere. Diners rave about signature dishes like the unique Pasta alla Norma and classic desserts. While the food is consistently praised, some reviews mention that service can be hurried during peak times, and outdoor seating might be less comfortable in cooler weather.
"When locals tell you this restaurant is number one, you have to believe them. We have eaten here several times. They use the best and freshest ingredients and have prices similar to street food. A welcoming, clean and relaxed atmosphere. Don't hesitate to eat here and you will definitely be back. Ahhhh and the best Cannoli is here. Here some dishes."

"Fabulous restaurant. Loved the ethos of menu (wish theyd left them on table for us to read fully after ordering)., quirky style of decor..food was delicious.
Recommend booking or arriving before 7pm as at 730 we were unable to get a table inside.. was a bit chilly eating outside in February. (No patio heaters)."

"If you’re in Palermo and looking to try authentic Sicilian food this is the place to go! I only managed to get two photos of some of our starters as we were so excited to eat! The service was great and the staff were very friendly! Such a lovely atmosphere being seated outside! Make sure you book ahead as there were people being turned away as they were full! We got there at about 20:15 and it definitely started to get busy about 15minutes later! Can’t wait to go back when I come back to Palermo!"

Where to Drink and Dine in Palermo, Sicily
With delicious, authentic dishes and a cracking wine list that offers the best of Sicily alongside some lesser-known jewels, this is where the locals go. The atmosphere is fun and casual, complete with a suspended, indoor wrought-iron balcony. You’ll be treated to classic meals as nonna would prepare them, like spaghetti with squid ink or bucatini topped with sardines and herbs.
48 Hours In Palermo: What To See, Do And Eat
You can stick around for artisanal pizzas and fresh pastas or ‘round the corner for dinner at Osteria Mangia e Bevi, a trattoria with heart (and a delightfully shabby chic vibe). One of the restaurant's highlights is a unique version of Pasta alla Norma that sees spaghetti with tomato sauce, eggplants and cheese fried and served directly in the pan.
Street food in Palermo: What is it?
A proper street food palermo bucket list must include the delicious mangia e bevi. This Sicilian street food specialty became very popular among english people since I offered it to Rick Stein in Palermo during his Long Weekends’ show. The mangia e bevi is the ideal treat for hungry meat lovers.
What To See And Eat In Palermo, Sicily
You really can’t go wrong with restaurants in Palermo, like most of Italy, but some of my favorite restaurants for traditional Palermitani cuisine include: Osteria Mangia e Bevi, Osteria Pane e Alivi, and Ristorante Sapori Perduti.
