Diners rave about unique dishes and the warm, friendly service, though some mention occasional service hiccups. "Perfect dinner atmosphere in a small familiar Osteria. Very friendly service, delicious food and excellent wine (house wine). Thank you for offering us a table, even we didn’t have a reservation."

"Highlights: I really enjoyed the liver with polenta. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Italy in a while. Overall this place had the potential for a 5 star, but there were a few things that could have been better:
- service: it felt like we needed to call the waiters multiple times
- service: strangely we were told there is no balsamic vinegar
- fish: the fish tasted a bit funny - did not get the impression that it was fresh."

"We loved this place. The owner was very accommodating as we had a baby in a large stroller and couldn't fit into the space initially reserved for us (I didn't make it clear on the phone that we were with a baby) so she offered us to wait 20 min until another table with enough space was available. We returned in 20 min and had a lovely meal. The food is delicious and wholesome. Local flavours at a very reasonable price. Very cosy, warm atmosphere. Friendly service. Thank you for the experience."

Restaurants in Padua
Located in the heart of what used to be Padua's Jewish ghetto, this friendly trattoria serves almost exclusively traditional Veneto dishes, and it does so with refinement and care. Everything from the well-crafted dishes to the unfussy ship's dining cabin–like decor and elegant plates reflect decades of Padovano hospitality. The veal liver and onions is extraordinarily tender, and even the accompanying polenta is grilled to perfection.

How to Get to Padua in Italy and What to Do There
A must-try restaurant in Padua is the Osteria Dal Capo on Via Dei Soncin, across the piazza del Duomo. Via Dei Soncin is a narrow, alley-like street directly across the piazza from the front of the Duomo. The sign on the door says the Dal Capo opens at 6 pm, but ignore it, they won't serve you until 7:30 pm.
What to eat in Padua: all the typical dishes of my town
In the town center you can find it for example at the Osteria dal Capo** in via Obizzi (it is not constantly on the menu so you should check). Not having any photos, I used the (splendid) one taken at the Trattoria Montanella in Arquà Petrarca by the photographer Alessandro Capuzzo.

A Padova Food Guide
Slightly outside Padova (you will need a car), this Osteria serves food from South Italy. It doesn’t get more Italian than that. Desserts are ok, but nothing extraordinary.

Depends on what kind of place you enjoy, but in the nine nights we spent in Padua, our favorites were Osteria dal Capo and Osteria A Banda Del Buso.
