Reviews Summary

Ristorante Maurizio is praised for its delicious Umbrian cuisine, particularly the truffle pasta, and its unique balsamic vinegar tastings. Guests also appreciate the elegant, non-touristy ambiance and exceptional service. While food quality is consistently high, some reviews mention a long wait time for dishes.

"Stopped in here on a whim and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is wonderful and everything I tasted was incredible. The Umbrichelle Pasta with black truffle, mushroom, and guanciale bacon was absolutely perfect. Also that's the best barley soup I've ever had. Service from Andrea and Stefano was impeccable! A perfect spot for an extended lunch!"

Eric Block

"Very cute restaurant with a wine, pasta, and olive oil shop. Friendly service and delicious food. About half a block from the Duomo, it's easy to miss because it looks like a store from the outside. It's a great place and recommended as a great lunch spot for good, slow, food."

J de Ojeda

"Some of the best Umbrian food I’ve had - in an absolutely stunning location. Just a few steps away from the Duomo, this restaurant is the place to visit - especially if looking for Orvieto Classico, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar."

Restaurants in Orvieto

Off a busy pedestrian street near the Duomo, this welcoming, family-owned restaurant has an ultra contemporary look but is actually housed in a 14th-century medieval building with arched ceilings. The Martinelli family's own products, including balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and pasta, are used in their robustly flavored dishes, and you can also sample their well-regarded Montefalco wines.
