What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cibo Pasticceria is celebrated for its stunning location next to the Duomo and its delectable, beautifully presented pastries and sweets. Many praise the friendly and quick service, as well as the pleasant outdoor seating. However, some patrons have experienced issues with pricing, citing it as high for tourists, and have noted instances of inattentive service during busy periods.
"Lovely patisserie in the liveliest square of Modena city centre.
The pastries they sell are beautiful, an invite to be eaten. The 2 that we tried were also very good!
In the evening they serve savory things and one can enjoy the food on the outdoor tables while walking people passing by.
We got a feeling that the staff may have benefitted from having an additional person as our waitress seemed to have too much to keep an eye on."

"August 2025
Close to the duomo, nice terrace, sweet and salty, goid choice.
Very friendly staff🧡
Toilets narrow stairs to 1st floor"

"Terrible: obscene prices, rude and incompetent service. We sat down after lunch for coffee and drinks. As a start: they did not even bother to clean the table. Furthermore, they charged us 10 euros for a pot of tea with very small tepid water with 2 tea bags. On top of that they charged us 1.20 euros for few tiny biscuits that usually are included with tea. I think that if you charge something you should ask before if the client wants it…
4.5 euros for a miserable cup of hot chocolate and 4 euros for a coke. Stay away from this place unless you want to be charged stupid prices for very low quality of products and service."

Restaurants in Emilia–Romagna
Just a handful of steps from Modena's beautiful cathedral, this lively place serves coffee, juices, fine wines by the glass, and lovely little sandwiches. But perhaps it's best to come here for a sweet, as they are luscious and delicious, and they're all made in-house.
The Hip Local’s Guide to Modena
Cibo – Across from Modena’s main duomo, the pasticcini lining the window of this bar are almost as stunning as the aforementioned landmark. Open until 11 PM most nights (and until 1 AM on Friday and Saturday!), it’s a great spot anytime of day for a little pick-me-up, whether sweet or savory.
Inside Modena’s Favorite Market
Cibo: A mix between a cafe, pastry shop, and cafeteria, Cibo is a great hotspot for all things sweet and savory. Order just-baked biscuits and slices of cake, plus fried dumplings and focaccia.
