Reviews Summary
This restaurant is celebrated for its authentic and perfectly cooked pasta dishes, particularly the carbonara, and offers a unique hot stone steak experience. Diners praise the cozy ambiance and friendly service, though some note that English may not be widely understood by staff. While many rave about the food and value, there are a few concerning reviews regarding staff unprofessionalism and a rare report of an intestinal issue.
"So lovely! Great pasta and such friendly service."

"In September, my husband and I dined at this spot in Matera, which seemed popular with tour groups. Though hesitant at first, we gave it a try as the staff was friendly and it was getting late. We had the crusco peppers, Matera-style meatless meatballs, vongole, and Lucana-style carbonara. The vongole was our favorite, and while surprised the meatballs were meatless, they were still tasty. The crispy peppers were unique and crunchy, not like bell peppers. With the right expectations, it’s a good choice—especially if you can beat the crowds."

Service is fast, full of attention and very kind. I truly recommend this place."

This was another spot recommended to me by the owner of the hotel I stayed at. Ristorante Spaghetteria Miseria e Nobiltà is located right outside the Sassi district of Matera, where many of the hotels are. The pastas are amazing!
