Reviews Summary

Ostaia De Banchi is praised for its authentic Ligurian cuisine, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere. Diners love the unique dishes like the octopus soup and the local take on Tiramisu. However, some found the menu limited and the prices high for the portion sizes, with occasional disappointment in specific dishes.

"A fantastically authentic restaurant. The service and food were both outstanding. As a non Italian speaker it was so refreshing to see staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable whilst ordering. The food was outstanding, I would recommend the octopus soup and the fresh tuna and spinach pasta. The menu changes depending on whats available which reflects how fresh the food is here."

"We felt welcomed and had a very wholesome homemade meal. Gnocchi with pesto is creamy and delicious. The owners had a lovely big smile and the place is cozy. Thank you 😊."

"One of my best Genovese dinner so far.
After a disappointing repeat dinner in another place where the tartare was absolutely tasteless (far too much tomato), I had a great dinner at Ostaia de Banchi.
The place is definitely a true gem, a bit off the beaten path, with over-friendly staff.
What you do not have in terms of decoration, lighting and other useless stuff is more than compensated with the food quality.
Extraordinary Cappin Mateo, exceptional homemade gnocchis with eggplant and red mullet … and all that with a great smile!
I definitely recommend the place!"

Very close the lively area of Porto Antico, let’s stop at the Ligurian / Genoese tavern Ostaia de Banchi. Here, in a characteristic and cozy location with an open kitchen, we can taste traditional dishes (renewed every month and a half following the seasonality of local products) and rediscover the ancient, almost forgotten recipes of Liguria such as Torta Saià and Battolli (chestnut noodles from Uscio, Genoa). Do not miss the Genoese variant of Tiramisù, invented by the owners, which consists of the biscuit of the Lagaccio instead of the ladyfingers, a milk cream taken from a Ligurian cake, the prescinseua ( Genoese curd) mantecata (as it used to be once) with honey and sugar and, finally, a sprinkling of cocoa.
