Reviews Summary

Trattoria da Noemi is praised for its authentic Ferrara cuisine, cozy medieval ambiance, and exceptional, knowledgeable service. Diners rave about the handmade pasta, traditional dishes, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. However, some guests have experienced disappointment with items being sold out early in the service, even for the first arrivals, and a lack of explanation for these shortages.

"This place is really the real deal. Authentic, Ferrara cuisine that is made with love is something worth seeking out. We had eaten here 15 years ago and stumbled upon it again. This time, there is a Michelin sign up, but that wasn't the motivation to go. It was because we remembered the pumpkin ravioli with sage and amaretto cookie, the fresh pasta with black truffle, and the wonderful, authentic vibe of this place. It's a busy place, and the elegance is just enough when paired with the working class traditional cuisine. It's a special place. And, it is tucked away in the cute medieval quarter of Ferrara. Transport yourself back and eat the way it was meant to be. Wonderful."

The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations.
Overall, Trattoria da Noemi is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting. I will definitely be returning!"

"At our first day in Ferrara we saw this restaurant and said, we should have dinner over there. With high expectations we went on Sunday evening and everything was just perfect. From the storytelling of the history until the ambiance and local and traditional dishes. We loved it, thank you!"

The Italian Town Where You Can Eat Like a Renaissance Royal

At Trattoria da Noemi the hefty domed pie is decorated with strips, flowers, and an “N” from leftover pastry and is double egg-washed for a glossy finish. Inside is short maccheroni pasta with minced pork and veal and bechamel sauce in four thick alternating layers, flavored with generous shavings of black truffle. The full preparation process takes two days.

Located in the historic city centre of Ferrara, in a marvellous palace that dates back to 1400, in the familiar and cozy atmosphere that characterizes it, the " Trattoria da Noemi" suggets typical dishes of Ferrara using products from the territory. Trattoria Da Noemi, one of the most popular in the Emilian city, has since 1958 occupied a charming building in the historical centre of Ferrara that dates back to 1400. The Trattoria Da Noemi earned a mention from the editors of the Osterie d’Italia 2016 guide published by Slow Food Editore, which dedicated the chosen for you column on Emilia-Romagna to its cappelletti and cappellacci in an article listing the taverns to visit to sample the region’s flagship dishes.

In a 1400s building in the heart of the city, the sign is now under the careful management of Maria Cristina Borgazzi (daughter of the founder Noemi and sommelier) with the support of her family. The menu is as typical as it gets: cold cuts with fried "pinzini," pumpkin cappellacci, cappelletti, macaroni pie Ferrara-style, lasagna, salama da sugo with mashed potatoes, grilled lamb, tripe. All dishes are highly satisfying.
