"Not often do you get told that, because you are not Italian, you might not enjoy “al dente” pasta as much. I actually didn’t enjoy the pasta because it was actually raw. The fettuccia was extremely hard and chewy, while the inside tasted doughy. The “catch of the day” fish was bland and overcooked as if it was frozen.
Unfortunately, for a restaurant that advertises its Michelin recommendations for the past couple years, I have to really question the validity of those inspectors. The execution for most of the dishes were very average at best while some were worst than basic home cooking. The pacing was awful for a la carte, with 30-40 mins gaps between dishes.
There’s really no point in staff asking why you didn’t enjoy the dish if nothing is done in response to a criticism of the dish. If pasta can’t be done right … at a restaurant in Italy, we definitely have major problems here."
