What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Trattoria dal Biassanot is celebrated for its high-quality, traditional Bolognese cuisine, with many praising the incredible lasagna and handmade pastas. The cozy trattoria atmosphere and attentive service contribute to a positive dining experience, though some find the prices slightly higher than average and portions large. One reviewer noted an issue with appetizers being served with mains and a less-than-ideal tiramisu, suggesting it can sometimes feel like a tourist trap, though most experiences highlight authenticity and deliciousness.
"Everything we ate was delicious. The carpaccio and the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms were especially great. For dessert, the panna cotta was a perfect way to finish. It’s a high-end place in terms of price and quality, but don’t forget to make a reservation!"

"For dinner, the prices here were a bit higher compared to nearby restaurants, but the portions were also noticeably larger. The lasagne was honestly the best I've ever had in my life – absolutely incredible! The tortellini was also very good. However, the cotoletta Bolognese was quite salty. This place seems to be very popular, as we had to wait a while for our food."
Yecheng Shen
"The perfect location to grab some excellent traditional food in Bologna.
Everything we had was beyond perfect.
The tagliatelle al ragu and the raviolini Bologna ai pistacchi were really delicious but the simplicity and flavors of the tagliatelle ai funghi porcini were the icing on the cake.
Also the best panna cotta (had a wonderful creaminess to it) I ever had. Truly a wonderful spot!"

Best restaurants Bologna, Italy
Despite its bow-tied waiters, the Biassanot is about as down to earth as its menu, which lists such rustic throwbacks as wild boar, rabbit and veal with balsamic vinegar and mushrooms. Get in early: the check-clothed tables get busy. The zuppa inglese (liqueur-soaked sponge and custard dessert) rounds off proceedings very nicely.
Bologna Restaurants open on Sunday?
Restaurants that piqued my interest include Da Gianni and Trattoria Dal Bassianot, but both appear closed on Sunday night. (We will probably hit those another time during our 4 nights.)
Madame Free-From & the Wheaty Eater: Senza glutine: the joys of eating gluten-free in Bologna, Italy
Trattoria dal Biassanot: maybe it was luck, but when we stumbled on this bustling trattoria we were told that certo (of course) they could provide gluten-free pasta. This was where I tried my first authentic ragu (better known to most palates as bolognese sauce). Accompanied with generous glugs of Sangiovese wine and lip-smackingly salty Parma ham, it was a gut-busting lunch to savour.

Handmade Bolognese originals in pasta form are adorned with fire-roasted meats and hearty vegetable accents that brilliantly merge the robust bounty of Italy's growers, farmers and wine-makers.
