Reviews Summary

All'Osteria Bottega is celebrated for its authentic Bolognese cuisine, particularly its rich pasta dishes and traditional meat preparations. Diners frequently praise the impeccable and welcoming service, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere. While generally highly regarded, some reviewers noted that prices can be high and service times may occasionally lengthen during peak periods.

"What an experience, classic bolognese cuisine with a service that was just perfect. Having arrived for lunch we’d hat to first sit outside a bit but within 15 minutes we got a spot. The essence of slow food is being presented by the kitchen & the servers. A wine collection that has been closely prepared made it even better. An amazing atmosphere for a saterday lunch, sitting inbetween friends & families. You can feel the culture & love of food."

"If I could give a 10 for the service I would! Everyone was so lovely- But the tall gentleman who seemed to be a head waiter, was incredibly lovely and welcoming, we didn’t have a booking for lunch but allowed us to wait for 20 minutes to find us a table, in that time we sat outside and enjoyed a lovely sparking wine that he recommended and a snack. When we got our table we sat down, waiters offered to take our coats and bags. We wanted everything from the menu, so enlisted our great waiter to recommend something for us- he did not disappoint! You MUST get the lardo to start. The pasta with artichoke and cured meat was probably the best plate of food I’ve ever eaten. The first day we had the poached pear - simple and divine. The second day we had the milk pudding - incredible and annoyed that I didn’t pack some in my suitcase home. We both left here feeling like we were being hugged by our stomachs! We proceeded to book a table for lunch the next day.
I’ve eaten at around 8/9 of the well known restaurants in Bologna - this was the top. I did also say to my partner that it may be my new favourite restaurant and that I may have cheated on him with my pasta. I will be back!!!! @michelin - Bib Gourmand at least?"

"What can I say?

Our lovely AirBnB hosts recommended All'Osteria Bottega for my birthday and booked us a table.

The food was stunning (including rabbit terrine and baby pigeon cooked 'three ways') and the location just perfect.

I am torn between making it even more popular and wanting other people to experience their beautiful food and delightful service.

The menu changes with what is available so just make a booking and enjoy..."

The Telegraph

The 20 best restaurants in Bologna

Genuine Bolognese dishes – like nonna used to make – and a warm, cheerful welcome from host Daniele Minarelli and wife Valeria are what inspires diners to return here time and again. The intimate interior is simple (wooden tables and chairs, country-style lamps) while table settings feature ultra-fine glassware, cloth napkins and traditional butcher’s paper table mats. Order a local Sangiovese or fresh white Pignoletto and dig into fragrant cold cuts (Daniele is especially maniacal about sourcing the best); proceed to homemade tortellini followed by cotoletta alla petroniana (breaded veal cutlet with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and ham) and finish with torta di riso (rice cake), which is gooey yet refreshing.

Where to eat in Bologna: the 5 best trattorias chosen by Gambero Rosso

Navigating through the many establishments in the city that promise, swearing and vowing, to bring true Bolognese cuisine to the table—the most admired and imitated (sometimes underestimated) in the world—is not easy. However, Osteria Bottega has a kitchen with a faithful representation of the subject. Daniele Minarelli, known as "Il Dandy" for gourmands who recall his past in Minerbio, has succeeded in creating the right alchemy that distills the essence of Bolognese cuisine in a carefree environment managed by a seasoned team that knows how to march to the beat, illustrate the philosophy of the place, and recommend a great bottle as well as an honest local artisanal wine to pair with the dishes.

The 9 Best Places in Bologna for Tortellini in Brodo

All’Osteria Bottega – Tucked under a portico on the edge of the city, this restaurant, which also boasts a Slow Food stamp, is slightly more upscale than a typical trattoria, but that doesn’t mean the perfectly executed classics aren’t simple and hearty. All the ingredients and wines are top-notch, the latter coming via recommendation of the waiters rather than on a physical wine list. Their tortellini in brodo di cappone is just the way we love it: with more tortellini than broth, cheekily labeled “Ricordo il profumo del brodo di cappone della ‘domenica’ e i tortellini” (“I remember the smell of the capon broth on Sunday and the tortellini”) on the menu.

What & Where to Eat in Bologna

A Bolognese food tour guide likened eating at All’Osteria Bottega to looking through an old photo album and having “lost memories and blurry flavors reappear from their glorious past.” Indeed, this is one of the best places to eat in Bologna if you’re looking for the region’s most traditional, most authentic recipes. Sure, they serve exquisite salumi, but they are best known for keeping alive such rustic, almost antiquarian dishes as baby pigeon breast with chicory and pomegranate sauce, hazelnut-crusted lamb loin, and roasted guinea hen, to mention just a few. Even classics not threatened with extinction are expertly prepared.

An Italian Local Picked 15 Restaurants In Bologna You Should Know About

The recipes used in this restaurant are so traditional that chef Daniele Minarelli had to go and dig them out from the days of yore, in some cases recovering modes and methods that had fallen into disuse. The delivery system is just as traditional: You will start your meal with a charcuterie board of local cheeses and cured meats, followed by Bolognese tortellini or tagliatelle with ragu, and if you have room, you can even order a second course of breaded veal cutlet. Finish it all off with a cake made with rice, straight from the kitchen of the chef's mother, figuratively speaking.

City guide: Bologna

Osteria Bottega was probably the best of the many old-school restaurants I’ve tried in Bologna. I felt less likely to run into a group of Americans at an adjacent table (and they only had one person on the wait staff who spoke English) but if anything that made the whole thing more of a treat. It’s a nice, tasteful, reasonably basic room but the food is what stayed with me about my visit.
