There are many more, but among the most attractive places to eat on the island are the luxurious restaurant of the Tiberio Palace, the enchanting terrace of Il Geranio with its stunning views, Faraglioni (Via Camerelle, 75 ), Aurora, Paolino, with its romantic terrace under the lemon trees in Marina Grande, Villa Verde, Sollievo and da Giorgio. In Anacapri, the sumptuous L'Olivo at the Capri Palace is the only restaurant on the island to boast a Michelin star.

Here stars like Ronaldo, Uma Thurman or Eva Longoria show up, but also in terms of culinary the Aurora convinces. Chef Franco Averso serves authentic Neapolitan and Mediterranean dishes and Italo classics like pizza.

The initial reception at Aurora was quite pretentious, the crowd a little on that side too (think – Mariah Carey was there last summer to name one), but our waiter was lovely and the meal (in particular the mix of raw carpaccio) was great. (Unfortunately the dim lighting means I don’t have images to share with you.)

Other local delights include Caprese salad—a beautiful and simple starter featuring tomato, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and sometimes arugula—and wood-fired pizza, found at Villa Verde and Aurora. Save room for the local-favorite dessert: chocolate almond cake, traditionally served with a glass of limoncello.

For a special occasion experience that can’t be beaten and some guaranteed star-spotting, treat yourself to a night at Aurora, AFTER 9:00 PM. Book weeks in advance or go in person (looking chic). This quintessential Capri restaurant is run by the third generation of the D’Alessio family, Mia.

For dinner, I was recommended the famous restaurant Aurora in the village, which is a must-try restaurant!. We ate there so well that we went back before leaving. Whether it’s the vitello tonnato, the parpadelle with truffle cacio e pepe, the pizza or the desserts, you’re in for a treat!.

You are much more likely to find me still in my beach coverup at sunset having a negroni at Bar Alberto and getting takeaway ravioli Caprese to eat on the terrace for dinner than at Aurora hoping to get a glimpse of whatever celebrity has come off their yacht for a night on the town.

For three generations, the D’Alessio family has been managing the restaurant with sympathy and cordiality, taking care to pass on the culinary traditions of Capri. Dad Gennaro invented the water pizza, since then a food for refined nobles and intellectuals who loved light foods.
