This is the go-to bar for the cool and beautiful hipster crowd of Tel Aviv’s preeminent hipster kingdom. Located in an old industrial building once used for textile production, the first-floor restaurant is headed by none other than magician chef Eyal Shani.

Housed in a large multi-level historic building constructed in 1867, Beit Romano (in the laidback and trendy Florentin neighborhood) now pulses with performances, restaurants and bars but originally housed a torah center and yeshiva. Music, comedy shows, film screenings and more take place in the central courtyard alongside Eyal Shani’s Teder FM, Romano, Nuweiba record shop and Mirage x Jazz Kissa. A three-minute walk away, is Levinsky Market—another essential.

It is on the second floor in an obscure squat with a different party on each floor. You can sit in the gallery and enjoy the music on the floors below, or inside the restaurant where a beautiful turntable provides you with music all evening. The waiters are not the best, and sometimes make little mistakes, but hey, in the rush you experience during a night at Salon Romano this is oké.

Hidden at the back of this dead end, in one of Tel Aviv’s oldest shopping arcades, you find Romano, a restaurant approved by vegetarians, and a local radio Teder.fr, which also serves as a concert venue and record shop. A place that everyone can agree on. There are no reservations or table service here; let yourself be swept up in the joyful chaos.

I also want to point out the cool hidden court where the bar Teder FM and the restaurant Romano are located. From enjoying a really delicious pizza to drinking a local beer or even watching a movie screening, everything seems to happen here.
