What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Popina offers a unique and innovative dining experience, with many praising the creative tasting menus and standout dishes like the seafood black pizza and gin and tonic tartar. The service is frequently noted as impeccable and knowledgeable, contributing to a positive atmosphere. However, some diners find the restaurant overrated or lacking in flavor for the price, with occasional issues like overcrowding or inconsistent dish quality.
"I highly recommend this place.
We did the tasting menu which was a brilliant choice.
The service was impeccable. Waiter was patient and knowledgeable about the dishes.
Cocktail was really good. Most similar places make very boring cocktails so it was nice for a change.
I think the duck liver alongside the ravioli was the best dish in the tasting menu.
Only downside was the steak which tasted nice but was almost well-done (see photo).
I would definitely return."

"Totally overrated. The bar is too crowded and you really sit too close to each others (at least on the left side of the bar).
The food is nothing special except for their signature dish. Missing salt, meat lacking of flavor and I had a chunk of bad meat in the carpaccio I couldn’t swallow. Prices are too high for what you get. I wouldn’t recommend and we won’t be back. A disappointing experience."
Sandrine Azencot
"What a great restaurant and dining experience. We sat at the bar which was nice to have a view to the kitchen and chat with the very friendly bartender.
The variety of the menu and portion sizes allow for treating all palates. We highly recommend the gin and tonic tartar which was especially great due to the Wasabi tobiko.
The service was excellent, just as the food and drinks were."
