Reviews Summary
Claro is celebrated for its innovative, farm-to-table Mediterranean cuisine and vibrant atmosphere, often praised as one of Israel's best restaurants. Diners rave about the fresh ingredients and creative flavor combinations. However, some patrons have noted that portions can be small, and service can occasionally be slow or inattentive, particularly during busy periods.
"What an amazing place the brunch for two was incredible and sooo much food. Good quality food. Service a little spotty. Asked for not coffee, and juice…. Nothing. Eggs came with the meal but were forgotten until we mentions them. We received them and seems like they had been sitting there for a while. Again food was incredible, fresh, tasty, and high quality."

"The food menu is very interesting and apparently based on local products from the Galilee region. The dishes are not generous, and in my opinion, could be more generous. The restaurant doesn't have good acoustics and is somewhat noisy, which in a restaurant of this category and these prices could be more appropriate. The experience was very good, but some details could be improved."
Daniel Werner
"Fine dining at its best. The place is clean and cozy, the food is beyond delicious with well balanced flavors in every dish. Tomer the sommelier recommended the Sphera Sauvignon Blanc that complimented the dishes well. The sashimi intias was superb and the bread pudding is also an incredible dish. The mains we took were very good as well.
The only thing that made us feel a bit weird was that the servers seemed stressed to clear the appetizers cutlery before we finished eating them, and also that they came every 2 minutes in the first 10 minutes to see if we made up our minds yet. The restaurant wasn't full so I didn't understand the rush."

The best restaurants in Tel Aviv to try right now
Claro (‘clear’ in Spanish) is a farm-to-table concept in the Sarona district, housed in a cavernous stone Templar building that’s worn many hats since 1885. Chef Ran Shmueli champions local produce – a pair of stalk-on, oven-roasted whole corn with bacon butter and sour cream aioli being a shining example – with pan-Mediterranean interpretations. Dining tables are plentiful in the industrial-chic dining room, but the enormous countertop enveloping the open kitchen hosts all the action (and it’s also where the bartenders might invite you to take a shot).

Helmed by one of Israel's most highly regarded veteran chefs, Ran Shmueli, Claro is one of those spots that has it all. The farm-to-table Mediterranean menu changes daily, featuring only the freshest seasonal, locally sourced produce, and the building, originally constructed by the German Templers in 1886, makes the experience unforgettable. The rustic yet sophisticated ambience complements the beautiful dishes, a perfect balance of classic Mediterranean cuisine and innovative Israeli flavors.

Sarona Market — The Tel Aviv Hotspot for Food Culture | by The Israel Journal at NYU
While on one hand you can get relatively cheap, filled to the brim pita for dinner at Sarona Market, you can also find higher end, more expensive restaurants outside the perimeter of the market, like Claro. Started by chef Ran Schmueli, Claro features a farm-to-table inspired menu with influences from the Mediterranean. Some of their popular dishes include the ruby clementine salad with local halloumi, citrus vinaigrette, and chili, the raw Mediterranean fish appetizer with tabbouleh, yogurt, and pistachios, and the roasted Jerusalem artichoke with garlic cream, feta cheese, and roasted onions.

Chef Ran Shmueli's Claro is consistently ranked as one of the top five restaurants in Tel Aviv period, let alone for brunch.
