Founded by Xoli Ormut-Durbin, an Israeli olah who was raised in Hong Kong by Canadian parents, Café Xoho began as a bonafide locals’ secret – fit with perfectly roasted coffee beans and international staff who always know your name. Even in café-crazed Tel Aviv, Xoho stands out.

Doubling as an art-and-music haven for locals, this inviting neighborhood café will make you feel as if you're in someone's fun and relaxing living room. The service is personal, the patrons are friendly (you will most likely end up in a conversation with many of them), and the extensive menu has options for everyone. The food at XOHO is inventive and playful. The staff of cooks, spearheaded by Chef Zoe, constantly experiment with fun baked goods and interesting specials, such as beer bread with rosemary, pecans and raisons or the camparai muffins.The regular items on the menu kindle little reminders of coffee shops in the States, such as the New York Bagel and cream cheese.

Another one of our favorite dishes in Tel Aviv is the ‘beer bread special’ at Cafe Xoho. Every week, Cafe Xoho changes the topping, and it is easily one of the best dishes in Tel Aviv.

This is an American-style cafe, complete with a wide variety of desserts and a wonderful juice bar – all vegan or vegetarian. There are, of course, some gluten-free options as well.

It’s pretty busy here so expect a line and you might have to take your food away if you can’t find a seat, but there’s a beach nearby that is perfect for a picnic.
