Under the direction of veteran Jerusalem-born chef Eran Peretz, Chakra serves prime cuts of meat, along with fish and pasta dishes. This venue’s kitchen celebrates the finer aspects of Israeli and Mediterranean cuisine with creative dishes such as lemon garlic cauliflower, sea salt black tiger shrimp, and handmade beetroot tortellini.

Despite being one of the city's best-known restaurants, Chakra still feigns anonymity: its name is nowhere in sight. It draws a lively thirtysomething crowd of hip Jerusalemites who appreciate the tasty fare from the open kitchen. The tables are arranged around the striking semicircular bar, and the patio enjoys a park view.

Chakra- Chakra is another fabulous Jerusalem restaurant that showcases an Italian-inspired menu with a global influence and an extensive seafood selection. The menu is varied and eclectic, and includes dishes like beetroot tortellini in Parmesan butter, kebabs with tahini and fire-roasted vegetables, and gnocchi with lamb and beef-butter sauce. In addition, a rich bar including the best of Israeli wines and a large selection of internationally renowned names rounds out the culinary experience.

Located in the Jerusalem city center on King George Street, Chakra stands alone in a white circular building that is easy to spot, and the building matches the vibe of the restaurant - bold and attention-grabbing. Inside the restaurant is also beautifully designed with an open-concept kitchen and round dining room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the park. The menu features a large selection of meat and seafood dishes, a huge wine menu, and not to mention some tantalizing desserts.

Honorable mentions go to both the negroni and the basil smash at Pizza Flora in the shuk (which also serves the best pizza in Jerusalem), and the Kentucky Mule at Chakra, a beautiful downtown restaurant. Mr. Em and I have about three months left in Jerusalem, and I’m very open to trying lots more cocktails in those 90 days. So if I’m missing something, let me know and I’ll take it upon myself to investigate.
