What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Duke is a long-standing Irish pub praised for its excellent cocktail and beer selection, alongside delicious food that ranges from classic pub fare to more sophisticated dishes. However, some diners have reported issues with cramped table spacing, slow or inattentive service, and unprofessional encounters with waitstaff, particularly regarding billing and tips. The atmosphere is generally appreciated for its unique design, but a few find it slightly pretentious.
"The Duke is a reputable establishment for some 20 odd years or more.
It maintains a professional standard both in food and drinks and in service.
It has a very wide variety of courses to choose from, most are very well made but obviously not all.
It is rather pricey, though, and one should take it into consideration too.
This time we only enjoyed a drink at the bar, but have eaten here many times and will come again."

"We wanted to like it but....
The good:
The cocktails and beer selection are fantastic. The food is actually quite delicious.
The place is quite lovely and unique looking.
The bad:
The tables are so badly placed, the place is so crowded that it's impossible not to constantly be pushed by other people while sitting specially kids.
Service is not truly the best, they seem understaffed. I got up myself to order. And later I asked 4 times and waited about 20 minutes for a glass of water, even though by then the place was pretty empty.
The worst:
Everything else would have been annoying but acceptable if by the end of our meal we wouldn't have had to deal with an entitled rude waitress who believed she deserved a high tip even though the service was very poor. She thought it appropriate not only to complain about the already undeserved amount of the tip and made faces at my husband. Extremely unprofessional. Specially when the meal was 363 shekels for two adults and a 2 year old."

The food is also great, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Overall, I highly recommend The Duke Bar Restaurant for anyone looking for a great place to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal."

With plenty of beer flowing on tap, including a rotating selection of local Israeli craft beers (and complimentary salted roasted peanuts to whet your appetite), craft style cocktails and a variety of high quality hard liquors, it’s easy to find something to suit your every mood. Settle in at the comfy bar to take in the big soccer game, or nestle into an intimate corner next to the beautifully exposed brick wall or decorative wine barrel décor, and enjoy the expected (and done well!) pub fare. You can also opt for more refined dining options, such as salmon ceviche served with seasonal fruits and garnished with thinly sliced scallions.

If until now we have been dealing with kebabs and steaks, the time has come to create the perfect finale of the list. This time I'm taking you on a European tour, which starts in the British Isles and continues to the continent, through France until landing in cool Switzerland. The British Isles because this is what this old pub looks like, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
