What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners frequently praise Left Bank for its stunning Victorian ambiance and exceptional cocktails, particularly the Espresso Martini and Whiskey Sours. Many also highlight the delicious fish and chips and the lively atmosphere enhanced by live music. However, some reviews suggest that food quality can be inconsistent, with occasional mentions of dishes not meeting previous standards or being overly peppery. Service can also be slow during peak times, though generally found to be friendly and professional.
"Great atmosphere!!!! Plenty of seating! Lots of drink options. I found the food menu to be a bit on the lighter side. I would have preferred more options since a handful of items are only available until 5:00 PM. The wait staff was bit on the slow side and we have to wait several minutes for our initial drink order. Others around us that were seated after us had already been served their drinks. Over all great place and is recommended by the locals."

"Stopped in for lunch while visiting Kilkenny and would definitely recommend! We came in for a later lunch on a Monday and had no issues getting a table for 7 people. We mainly ordered from their sandwiches and wraps lunch menu and were pleased. I had the chicken bacon with avocado, tomato and cheese and enjoyed it. My husband had the cottage pie and liked it too. The space itself is really fun and interesting and it’s right by the castle and the main stretch."

"The starters, five stars for atmosphere is just not enough. Left bank has probably got the best looking bar in Kilkenny. I should’ve started my Kilkenny experience at Left Bank.
Left bank has a generous wine card and outstanding beer selections. The calamari is absolutely delicious. For main dishes we both had the fish and chips. Once again, absolutely delicious.
Staff is friendly and professional. They tended to our every need. We are extremely happy that we made our way to left bank. Looks likely saved the best for last."
