Zakura Izakaya on Upper Baggot Street is a must-visit for any sushi lover in Dublin. The cozy and nicely decorated Japanese-themed restaurant boasts an extensive selection of fresh and incredibly tasty sushi dishes, including the shrimp gyozas and salmon lovers sushi which were both simply divine. Not only was the food delicious, but the customer service we received from the polite staff was absolutely fantastic – they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed.

Situated at the hear of the action on Upper Baggot Street, Zakura Izakaya is another spot reputed to do some of the best sushi in Dublin (1,148 Google reviews at the time of typing). There’s a lunch, dinner and takeaway menu on offer here, with a mix of all the usual sushi favourites along with tempura, ramen, ebi gyoza and more. The dinner menu is extensive, and fairly priced, too, with sushi rolls ranging from €3.60 to around €14.95, depending on size.

If you’re in the market for the best sushi rolls in Dublin City, look no further than Zakura Izakaya. Beautiful lanterns and Japanese artwork adorn the warm wooden walls of the restaurant, bringing some excellent ambience and a comforting atmosphere. The dishes are presented for optimal Instagram pictures, making it a great spot for a low-key date.

They do BYOW as well, at €6 corkage, which takes some pressure off your bill. Zakura also has a huge selection of dishes, that vary in price, so you can choose a meal that best fits your budget. Zakura has three branches, one on Upper Baggot Street, one on Lower Baggot Street, and one on Wexford Street.

Zakura Izakaya is Dublin’s second Zakura location and one of my favorite sushi places in the city. The quality of the sushi is consistent whether you order it to go or eat it in the restaurant. The people and service at Zakura Izakaya are fantastic, and the sushi is always delicious.

I’ve had some pretty good Japanese food since being in Dublin, but Zakura Izakaya was probably my favorite. It’s kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but the service is fast and the sushi is exceptional. I also loved the Chicken Katsu Curry, which I highly recommend.
