Known as a comfortable neighborhood restaurant offering modern Mediterranean dishes, Volpe Nera (which means ‘black fox’) can be found between Blackrock and Foxrock (get the name now?). This new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant expands two floors and offers an array of snacks, shareable plates, and desserts for people to enjoy. The menu features delectable dishes, including homemade fresh bread with mushroom butter, spinach and ricotta malfatti, and beef-dripped potatoes.

You aren’t likely to find much better-considered cuisine in the city than in this paired-back neighbourhood restaurant. The “Black Fox” gets its name from being the halfway point between Blackrock and Foxrock, mixing Asian flavours with Mediterranean techniques.
