Reviews Summary

The Exchequer Ranelagh is highly praised for its exceptional food, friendly service, and great atmosphere. Diners rave about signature dishes like the pork roast and tapas, as well as the extensive wine list and attentive staff. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some find tapas portions small for the price, and there have been isolated incidents of dietary accommodations being missed.

"Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Went there for my dad's birthday and what a birthday treat! We ordered the crackling pork roast dinner for 6 people and it was amazing. The chef came out to show us the pig in all it's glory, then cut up the beautiful pieces for us to eat. It was so juicy! The crackling was impeccable and you get so much food we had a bunch leftover that we got packaged up.
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone."

Claire Nolan

"Really enjoyed my evening here. It was beautifully decorated (for Christmas). We got a few bits to share. The tapas was nice, although I would say small portions for the price, especially the prawns but that’s Dublin for you! The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I’ll be back!"

Remy Naidoo

"Beef cheeks on the menu was a stand out ! Great lil place for a date night. Good selection of wine. Service is fantastic."

10 Best Brunch Places in Dublin

Opened in 2009, this award-winning gastropub specializes in serving comfort food with a modern twist. The décor eschews traditional pub motifs for something sleeker, with light woods, bright colors, color-blocked bookshelves, and sculptural accents creating a vibe that’s part-mod café, part brand-new airport lounge (in a good way) with inventive food to match. Make a reservation for weekend brunch and head in with a few pals—you can't nosh on prawn tacos, a full-Irish, and a pork roast all by yourself, now can you?

The New Exchequer Bar in Ranelagh, by Caroline Byrne

It’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from The Exchequer: stylish to a fault, ticking every box for produce, both alcoholic and edible, and dutiful but laid-back service that helps just enough while making you feel at home. Cocktails are ample and not for the uninitiated – I sampled the spicy Bloody Mary with jalapeño vodka and it was meaty, to say the least.
