"I have lived in Ranelagh as an expat for 3 years. Mortons was just 5 minutes away from my place and it had everything you’d need. The bakery items are exceptionally tasty. It’s been a year I moved away from Ireland and one day I’d definitely go back just to have their fresh sponge cake again. And the chocolate croissant that just flies off the shelf in the morning is to die for! So many mornings I used to just grab one while I was on my way to work. Love from Dubai 💕"

"Just wanted to say a big thank you for the great service! I have recently ordered a hamper (a surprise selection) along with fresh flowers. All my requests were taken on board, flowers were lovely and lasted a really long time. Food was delicious. My friend really enjoyed it and the hand written note was a really nice touch. Thank you again guys!"

Dublin – Page 2 – Ice Cream Ireland
Perhaps the prettiest food shop I’ve seen in Dublin is Morton’s new shop on Park Place, Hatch St. Just around the corner from the Harcourt Luas stop (in fact it’s on the other side of that facing stone wall), the shop is not located in a great position for being noticed, since you have to walk around the corner, but it’s definitely worth a look, especially if you’re feeling hungry around lunch time. Anyone who knows the original Morton’s shop in Ranelagh, will know they take their quality seriously and have enough variety of tasty treats to delight any foodie. Give it a visit, if you’re in the area, and grab something to nibble on the way home!
Five reasons to live in Ranelagh, Dublin
Stop by The Village Butcher at 121 Ranelagh, run by husband and wife duo Sarah and Michael, for dry-aged steak, or head to Morton’s on Dunville Avenue for your weekly shop. Family-run since 1934, all produce is fresh from the market or cooked on site. There is an in-house cheese counter and a fishmonger who can give advice on how to cook the catch of the day.
The best places to eat in Ranelagh right now
A stalwart in the area, Morton’s is a family-run business that started out as a traditional grocer in 1934. As well as a comprehensive selection of fruit and vegetables, you’ll find Lawlor’s meat at the butcher’s counter. There are also counters for fish and cheese, plus an enormous choice of top-quality prepared meals and wines.

Café Flora at Morton’s is a delightful little gem tucked away on Dunville Avenue in Ranelagh. My recent visit was nothing short of charming, even if parking was a bit of a puzzle on that damp morning. The café itself is small but perfectly formed, and the atmosphere immediately put me at ease.
Your guide to Ranelagh: Brunch capital of Dublin with a village atmosphere
Ranelagh has a SuperValu, a Lidl and a Tesco Express, but real Ranelagh-ites do their shopping on Dunville Avenue – home to local independent supermarket Morton’s as well as Best Of Italy, an excellent deli and greengrocer.
