The tantalising à la carte menu at Kinara Kitchen includes popular dishes like gosht rogan (tender lamb with tomatoes, onions and garlic with a touch of yogurt) and murgh tikka masala (barbecued chicken breast mellowed in a creamy cashew and almond nut sauce). If you’ve ever been to an Irish music festival, you will have spotted the huge lines by the Kinara food stand (or heard the rhythmic drumming of the chef hammering the BBQ). Their Ranelagh restaurant Kinara Kitchen serves impeccable Pakistani cuisine, from Tandoori monkfish to a creamy Makhanwala Murgh. To be honest, you can’t go wrong with anything here.

I’ve written recently about the flight to the suburbs by chefs seeking their own space and Ranelagh was arguably where it all began — John Farrell of Luna has two restaurants here (Butcher Grill and Dillingers), there are cool coffee shops and brunch spots (TriBeCa, Cinnamon), there is the excellent Kinara Kitchen, Pinochio if you want Italian, La Bodega if you want Spanish, La Réserve if you want French, Michie Sushi if you want Japanese, there’s a Diep, an Itsa, a Marios, a Milano, and there is even a good Swiss restaurant called Edelwise that serves chicken cordon-bleu and a choice of fondue (I’m not making this up!).

With three restaurants around the city, Kinara is a byword for quality when it comes to Pakistani and Indian cuisine. On the lunch menu you’ll find a range of the usual favourites like creamy korma, rich bhuna and spicy tikka chicken, as well the Pakistani classic and Kinara’s signature dish, biryani – a rice dish packed full of herbs and spices. There’s also a delicious saffron soup or the great value Thali Lunch at €12.95 – the traditional Pakistani way of serving lunch with one main dish, a side dish, rice and nan bread.

In the evenings Tribeca is always heaving as they serve up more baskets of chicken wings then you could possibly imagine, Kinara Kitchen cooks up the most delicious Pakistani curries that you could hope to find, and Pinocchio, hidden away under the bridge, creates the most mouth watering, authentic italian dishes. For drinks afterwards you really can’t beat Smyth’s or McSorley’s, a few quiet drinks in here usually ends up as a full blown night out as you no doubt bump into tonnes of people you know.

An intimate, candlelit restaurant, Kinara Kitchen serves some of the finest Pakistani and Eastern cuisine in Dublin. Renowned for their impeccable food and hospitality with GM Talha Pasha at the helm, you’ll certainly be well looked after here. Ranging from highly seasoned and spicy dishes reigning from Punjab and Sindgh to more distinct, aromatic flavours of Balochistan, the variety available at Kinara will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

With Dillinger’s for top notch American style dining, Michie Sushi for the only show in town sushi-wise, Kinara Kitchen for the best casual Indian and Pakistani cooking you’ll find, The Butcher Grill for meat feasts, La Bodega for authentic tapas, Redmond’s for wine and beer, and Pinocchio for Italian wine and grazing at its most laid-back – can’t help feeling a little bitter about this Dublin 6 food haven becoming more haven-ey.

Ranelagh village's Kinara Kitchen comes from the award-winning Kinara Group, founded by Sean Collender and Shoaib Yunus who bonded over their love of food. It has the unusual combination of having a fantastic dedicated cocktail bar with high-end Pakistani cuisine. The cocktail bar is headed up by Paul Lambert, proprietor of covert Dublin bar The Blind Pig and his attention to alcoholic perfection is evident in his mix of classic and inventive new tipples.

The succulent lamb chops are a standout, marinated in spices and cooked to perfection. Vegetarians will appreciate the paneer makhni, a creamy and flavourful paneer curry.

Kinara’s almost formidably expansive and tantalising menu is full of vegetarian and vegan goodness. While not uniformly vegan or vegetarian, there are massive swaths of the menu. While they have always eaten meat in Pakistan, vegetarianism has been an enormous part of their culture.

From the moment you step foot through the door, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are incredible – attentive, friendly and ready to help make your dining experience unforgettable. Now let’s talk about the star of the show – the food.

Eatery 120, Kinara Kitchen and The Wild Goose are all lovely, but expensive, and really only for special occasions. I’ve eaten everywhere else and have been either disappointed or, at least, underwhelmed. So when I heard about a new food hall called Cinnamon I was hopeful.

This stylish restauarant is a southside outpost of the excellent Pakistani/Asian restaurants Kinara, in Clontarf and Kajjal in Malahide which are both former winners of our Ethnic Restaurant of the Year Award. A byword for elegant and exciting ...

For eat in, I like Diwali/Kathmandu Kitchen for casual, and especially for lunch. Everyone in Dublin who enjoys Indian food should go to Ananda at least once. I've enjoyed Pickle the couple of times I've been and am overdue a return.

Or get high with a hidden roof garden: try Drury Buildings and The Workmans Club for cool city-centre sounds, or go Ranelagh rooftops with craft beer at Taphouse gastropub or cocktails at Kinara Kitchen.
