Murni’s Warung is the first restaurant in Ubud I visited right after I put my bags in the hotel. I was nearly starving, so I ordered Nasi Campur to compensate for my lack of carbohydrates that day. I chose this restaurant because it has good reviews on some websites, and they’re right.

We were blown away by the tutu ayam here and the chicken was so tender and flavourful that we don’t think we could make it better at home, either. The variety on the menu at this warung in Ubud is huge and it’s really 5-star Indonesian food for a very reasonable price.

Murni’s was one of the first restaurants in Ubud and continues to be among the best in town. It’s near the bridge to the north, a short walk from the palace, and is a restaurant/shop/bungalows all in one. I went for a late lunch one day.

Kids will love a visit to Murnis Warung for the cosy atmosphere and welcoming staff. The menu is mainly Indonesian which was all lovely. I was particularly impressed that they served my chicken satay on its very own little BBQ – cute!
