Reviews Summary

Gulati Restaurant is highly praised for its legendary Butter Chicken and flavorful North Indian cuisine, offering a cozy ambiance suitable for families. While many rave about the food and service, some find certain dishes overpriced or inconsistent in flavor, and service can be slow during peak buffet times.

"Good food service and restaurant, I was here to have a meal couple of years ago and came back today with my family. The buffet was good, worth the price paid. Last time I had an Ala carte and it was good. The desserts and curries were really good. You can ask them multiple bread options and they did serve them hot."

Manmith Reddy

"Gulati’s is a big name when you are In delhi and looking for some indian food, the place has not changed over the years (last I was here atleast 15 years back) but what has changed is the price, after eating in the Leela’s and Oberoi’s I found paying Rs 280 for a garlic naan with such an ambience a little too over the top.
Maybe I had high expectations with the food at the place but it did not live upto what we were looking for.
Here is what we ordered and my ratings of those considering price and taste
1) tomato soup: this was good, a little spicy, but I liked that, though not everyone might
2) chicken 65: this was not bad. Again a little spicy (living in the south of India I have had variety of chicken 65 and this was surely not the authentic receipt but it’s ok). The chicken quality though was not great
3) chickens tikka masala: a let down as had too much salt. The quality of chicken was good but the overall taste was not
4) paneers double masala (I think that was the name): not good, way too many different spices overpowering each other giving a very mixed taste
5) garlic naan: very good though way too expensive
6) khameeri roti: very nice and soft
7) tandoori roti: this was also good
8) ordered 1 mocktail, blue lagoon, it was ok. The glass was too big for the straw, had to ask them to change it mid way

So overall the breads were good but rest was average or below average and considering the price they charge it made the overall experience even not so great.
Also service wise, it took them way too long for getting the main course after the starters because of which we were already feeling full. So I suggest you order everything together. We did the mistake of ordering mains later."

Abhinav Shanker

"Tried the food here and really enjoyed it! The non-veg platter was delicious and more than enough for our family of four. The butter naan was absolutely yummy! The butter chicken, though decent, didn’t quite live up to the hype for me—and felt a bit pricey too. Overall, still a satisfying meal!"

Best butter chicken in New Delhi, as picked by the city’s foodies

Tandoori chicken (if you are faithful to the original), tart tomatoes cooked down and blended with rich cream for a tangy, smooth pulp where the spices are secondary to the sauce – it is devilishly difficult to nail the recipe perfectly. Gulati in Pandara Road (6, Main Market, Near Nirmal Shiksha Kendra, Pandara Road, Delhi; Call 23388836) manages to do it quite well: the sweetness of the cream never overpowers the tomatoes that are never bland. The big daddy of butter chicken is Mughal Mahal (7, Govind Lal Sikka Marg, Rajendra Place, New Delhi) in Rajinder Nagar.
