Reviews Summary

Avartana is celebrated for its innovative and elevated South Indian cuisine, with standout dishes like their exceptional rasam. Diners praise the creative presentation and high-quality ingredients. However, some guests note that the fine-dining experience can be lengthy, with service sometimes feeling automated or lacking warmth, and the atmosphere not always matching the high expectations set by the food quality.

"Avartana impresses with its innovative approach and exceptional quality. The ingredients are clearly top-tier, and the vegetarian dishes were executed with remarkable skill—flavorful, creative, and beautifully presented. Each course felt thoughtfully composed, showcasing the kitchen’s mastery.

Service was flawless, with Manoj delivering warm, attentive, and professional hospitality throughout the evening.

A truly memorable dining experience."

"We visited Avartana with high expectations, especially after seeing all the awards they won neatly displayed outside, which was impressive. The food was definitely amazing. They’ve taken South Indian dishes and given them a modern twist with creative presentation. It felt like a privilege to try them, and I’m truly thankful to the chefs for the experience. We tried the Jiaa, Maya, and Anika menus, and they were even kind enough to tweak a few items based on our dietary needs.

That said, I’m giving 3 stars because the overall experience didn’t quite match the quality of the food. The atmosphere didn’t feel as calm or polished as we expected from a fine-dining luxurious place. There seemed to be a lot happening among the staff throughout the evening, which made the vibe feel a bit distracting at times. The Anika menu took nearly 3.5 hours to complete — they did mention a delay at the start, but this amount of delay for a dinner with reservation is unexpected and unacceptable.

I just wish the service felt a bit more warm, seamless and hospitable. At the end of the day, people may not remember every dish they ate, but they always remember how they were made to feel — so they could use some improvement here."

"Awesome experience.. Fantastic service .. Great Presentation ..

Although we made our reservation at 7:45pm, the receptionist was sweet to allow us inside at 7:15pm saying we are booked the entire slot from 7pm to 11pm.

We chose Bela (9 course meal) and I have attached the menu and the pics of each dish.

Needs improvement : There was considerable waiting time (~15mins) just to pay the bill, as they were carrying single card machine for the full bunch !"

A new cocktail culture in Chennai is changing how the city eats and drinks

Already at the vanguard of culinary innovation in Chennai, the ITC Grand Chola has also put together a series of zero ABV cocktails specifically catered to each of its seven dining venues. These cocktails are inspired by the restaurants they are served in. For instance, at Avartana, you could try Pickle Jar, which combines raw mango puree, carbonated water and lime or C3 Zero, a non-alcoholic take on a gin and tonic flavoured with cucumber, coriander and chilli.

Top 20 Non Veg Restaurants In Guindy, Chennai

Avartana represents an associate elite mixture of regular and reformist versions of Southern Indian preparation attached to the presence of the attention-grabbing preferences, smells, and kinds of southern Indian flavours. The Southern Indian physical object got brought on by the locale’s abundance of pepper and flavours. Our contributions end up this commonality and incorporate a scope of uncommonly created tasting menus for knowing burger joints, which might presumably decide to partake among the thrill of enjoying a ramification of delights created by our cooking specialists.
