Reviews Summary

Pinch of Spice is highly praised for its delicious North Indian cuisine, particularly dishes like Dal Bukhara and Raan. Reviewers often highlight the great taste, courteous staff, and pleasant ambiance, making it a recommended spot for food lovers exploring Agra. However, some note that service can be slow during peak hours and suggest inquiring about spice levels for certain dishes.

"Impressed : decent experience and food was very good. Raan was amazing but note it's huge, too much for two people! (hence the higher price)
Daal Bukhari was divine, goes well with roomali roti and tandoori roti. Electro nightclub music."

Kumar Ghosh

"If you are a vegan then this restaurant is not meant for you.
Though the food is good but the atmosphere here is not up to the mark as food along with drinks plays a very crucial role.
The crowd herein is mainly foreigners but alongside them come up some bad elements of the elements.
It would have been a great place for dine out with family members if atleast more number of them had been non vegan.Altogether i would like to sum up with my views that each and every person has a different opinion and mindset for something,so take your own choice and go ahead."

"Visited July 25 2025 – Day 22 in India

We were on a 17 day cruise in Norway and our wonderful assistant server on the ship Vindhya insisted that we must try Pinch of Spice when visiting Agra. So as soon as we checked into our hotel, Taj View, we walked over. It was just a short and easy walk.

The restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere with attentive staff from the moment we arrived. My husband ordered an Indian single malt scotch called Ram Puri. It was his first time trying it and he really enjoyed the smoothness and unique flavor. It paired wonderfully with the rich Indian spices in the meal.

Our kids were craving butter chicken and the server kindly assured us it would not be spicy. However, when it arrived, it was a bit too spicy for them. When the captain of the restaurant came over to check on us, we mentioned it casually and without hesitation he immediately offered to make it right. That level of thoughtfulness really stood out to us.

For our youngest, who is five, we ordered the clear chicken soup which was light and comforting. She loved it with some plain rice on the side. It was simple, gentle, and perfect for a child’s palate.

We also ordered tangri kebab which were succulent and juicy chicken drumsticks marinated in aromatic spices and grilled to perfection. They were tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. The rara gosht was another standout dish with beautifully cooked mutton in a thick, rich, and deeply spiced gravy. It had just the right amount of heat and went perfectly with the freshly made naan and soft roti. Every bite was a delight.

At the end of our meal, we were served a refreshing mouth freshener drink that was not only unexpected but a perfect way to finish. It was herbal, cooling, and palate cleansing.

We are truly grateful to the captain and team for the excellent hospitality, especially for their kindness and care in making sure our kids were comfortable and happy. It made our experience that much more special.

Absolutely delicious food, thoughtful service, and a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend if you are in Agra."

Best things to do in Agra beyond the Taj Mahal

For a hearty local meal, tuck into mughlai fare like kebabs, korma and biryani at Pinch of Spice (outlets in Tajganj and Civil Lines) or at tiny street stalls in Sadar Bazaar. This market is also known for its famous chaat shops like Agra Chaat House, Shri Agarwal Chaat House and Pandit Ji Chaat Bhandar; try dishes like bhalla (spiced potato patty served with chickpea curry and chutney), dahi pakodi (deep-fried lentil fritters in sweetened yogurt), golgappe (hollow puri with fillings and flavored water) and papdi chaat (fried dough wafers topped with potatoes, chickpeas, yogurt and sweet and spicy chutneys).

What to do on a day-trip in Agra, India

I am recommending this place for several reasons: It is reasonably priced and is multi-cuisine for those not too happy to experiment Indian fare, has very clean interiors (and toilets), decent food and is quite close to both Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Menus are in English, the staff is courteous and easy to communicate with, ample seating space is available and the music is soothing and not too loud. However, if you do plan to try some Indian dishes, make sure to check with the staff if it is spicy as some of the dishes we tried were too hot, even for our North Indian palate.

Top Best Places To Eat In Agra

After tasting the food of this restaurant a couple of times we have ranked this as the number 2 place for foodies. This is a multi-cuisine non-touristy restaurant along with bar with a subtle white décor that adds elegance to the setting. And the best thing is that, after finishing your mouth-watering meal, they serve a refreshing mouth freshening drink (and I always ask for an extra glass, the last time the waiter got me four glasses… ) which actually completes the entire food experience.
