While this may not be the first type of food you envision eating on your trip, trust us when we say that Kombu Ramen Shop is one of the best restaurants in Antigua, Guatemala. We went on our last night and had we tried it sooner, we would’ve definitely gone back again!. We loved their La Picante and Curry ramens, which were both extremely flavorful, yet completely different.

While we were living in Lake Atitlan, our Guatemalan friend Heyner, kept talking about this ramen spot in Antigua!. He shared that the owners traveled to Japan many years ago to learn the process of making authentic Japenese ramen. Once they finished their training, they decided to bring their skills back home to Antigua Guatemala.

Newer than some of the other restaurants you’ll see on this list, but already becoming a town favorite. The owner lived and trained in Japan so you can be sure the food is made with authentic recipes that won’t let down. Our recommendation is to go with the spicy ramen and a side of gyoza dumplings.

My biggest regret is not going right until the end of my time there, otherwise, I would have been there all the time. It’s a little on the expensive side, at 70-80Q (€9-10) for a bowl of ramen, but it is so worth it!. This is for sure one of the best restaurants in Antigua, Guatemala.

No list of the best restaurants in Antigua would be complete without mentioning Kombu Ramen. This trendy eatery is famously known as the best ramen in Guatemala. Something I really wasn’t expecting to find.

After the Pacaya hike, I rewarded myself to a steaming bowl of ramen. And what a reward it was!. Every element of the dish was sublime and the salty broth was exactly what I needed to replenish me.
