Located in the town of Firostefani, Volkan on the Rocks was the first place we ate in Santorini after a day of wandering. Described as a sunset cocktail bar, it’s nestled right on the caldera and has the kind of views you want.

For the view, the menu, the atmosphere and the open-air cinema. Its aptly named Garden Sunset Bar allows you to enjoy magnificent sunsets without breaking the bank, as long as you arrive early. When it comes to food, choose the snack bar or the more upmarket restaurant depending on your budget.

Right where the absolute view meets relaxation and enjoyment, is where Volkan on the Rocks begins. The well-known Ergon chain distributes on the island the local Volkan beer, which is served cold, along with many delicious side dishes. Its ally is of course the endless view of the caldera.

The nice part about Santorini is there are so many restaurants and bars with incredible views!. If you’re looking for another awesome view check out Volkan on the Rocks for dinner and sunset. Because we were staying at Amelot and it had such great views, we decided to get our food to go.

A caprese sandwich at Volkan, overlooking Fira, was underwhelming, but they had cheap wine and screen nightly movies in an open-air cinema. It’s a great stop when you need something different to do. Skiza Cafe in Oia (pictured above) won out for quality.

If you’d ask me about the best restaurants in Fira, I’d recommend: Naoussa, Argo, Nikolas Tavern, Volkan on the Rocks, and Lucky’s Souvlaki. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during the summer.
