One of Barbata’s favourite courtyard bars, this cocktail spot may not be nestled on the side of a cliff, but what it lacks in a view, it makes up for in cocktail artistry and laid-back elegance. Industrial touches pepper this bougainvillea-clad courtyard; an intimate shelter from lively Oia, local residents come here to wind down with a drink. Signature cocktails range from the vodka-based Snappy Tea, Miss Milly (gin, strawberry, lychee, lime and mint) and the tsipouro (Greek brandy)-laced Localili.

Back in Oia, Fino has made its name with upscale comfort food, from truffle-topped lobster risotto to a game-changing Black Angus burger. A few streets away, Catch is the place for a romantic dinner, with its leafy, lantern-strung courtyard and dreamy rooftop terrace. Sip a hibiscus-spiked cocktail as you contemplate the menu, which riffs on local produce (think sea bass tartare with samphire and sea urchin, or dukkah-crusted lamb shoulder).

Located in the center of Oia, Fino is a stylish destination for Mediterranean cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails. Its minimalist interior boasts a touch of coastal charm, making it an ideal venue for a meal with loved ones. In addition to its impressive dining and cocktail menu, Fino also features a comprehensive wine list featuring a range of local reds, whites, and rosés.

GreekFino is an elegant restaurant with a romantic ambience but it looks much better from inside than on the outside. Gnocchi is what they are famous for but their lamb chops and the black cod fillet resting on a bed of carrot puree tastes great too. Other great dishes to try are the Black Angus burgers, fish roe mousse, lobster spring rolls, and prawn taglioni, salmon fillet.

We went here our first night and it was a short walk from the hotel. We kinda felt like salmon swimming upstream on the walk over since almost everyone is headed to the sunset. FINO had the best food, an incredible cozy open air atmosphere, but warning, you won’t get caldera or sunset views here.

Return to your hotel to freshen up, then head to White Beach for a relaxing evening. Dine at the nearby Catch Bar-Restaurant, where you can enjoy a sumptuous meal with the sound of the waves as your backdrop.

Sunsets Restaurant – for the best sunset view, reserve a table early on the upstairs patio here and watch the crowds queue up below for an unforgettable evening.

On my second night I walked over to Fino (near the bus station). Again, I’d made a reservation, and this one was recommended by my hotel concierge.
