Argo in Fira town is a favourite of mine, and it is the place where I take people who are visiting the island for the first time. Argo offers a large selection of Greek food but it’s their seafood plates that are shining along with the beautiful views of the caldera and the great service. The only problem with Argo is that you need to book it many days in advance, especially during the summer months of June, July, August, and September, as it gets fully booked.

If you want to dine at a restaurant that really sinks you into the flavors and atmosphere of Santorini, Greece, Argo is one of the best places to experience all that Greece has to offer food-wise. Argo restaurant not only aims to feed guests with classic Greek cuisine but also opens the gate to a memorable e x perience with a walk-through greenhouse and a small garden with a waterfall. Try the grilled octopus, shrimp pasta, and the stuffed calamari!

Argo restaurant is one of the best choices for guests who look for a traditional culinary experience at the Caldera in Fira, combining a breathtaking view with a wide range of delicious dishes for all tastes. The restaurant is a lovely two-storied building with the beautiful dining area on the terrace designed in muted shades of light and dark tones of blue and with the seafood platter being the most famous dish.

Argo is a sort of fancy restaurant that faces the Caldera in Fira (although the view at some tables is limited. We stopped by our first night without any reservation, but were given a table right away. The food was quite good, especially the tomato keftedes, or fritters made from battered battered local tomatoes. The fava bean dip was nice too with a nice splash of olive oil and warm, fluffy pita breads.

The two-story restaurant offers stunning views of the caldera, sea, and sunset. The eating area on the patio is decorated in bright and dark blue tones. It serves fried tomato cakes, fried cheese, grilled octopus, Greek salads, mezedes (Greek appetizers), stuffed tomatoes, green peppers, and baklava—a popular menu item: seafood platter.

Argo is a relaxing, beautiful “taverna” in Fira that is our absolute favorite tavern in the village!. With budget-friendly menu choices and reportedly better food than its competition (even though it enjoys a little less of their Caldera view), Argo is probably the best restaurant in Fira. Reviewers love it and so do we!

But if you want to grab a drink while taking in the sunset, my recommendations are Café del Mar (fancy and a bit pricey though – don’t mistake it for Café del Mar e Sol in Perivolos), PK Cocktail Bar and Argo Restaurant.
