What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners praise Bagatelle for its creative and delicious dishes, high-quality ingredients, and harmonious menu composition. The ambiance is often described as charming, cozy, and refined, with attentive service enhancing the dining experience. Some minor critiques include an awkward entrance and occasional over-salting of dishes, with one reviewer noting the high prices for a one-star establishment.
"Certainly worth giving Bagatelle a try. We enjoyed our dinner here. The menu was creative and most dishes were delicious. The service was good too and we enjoyed interacting with Priscilla. That said, there are some areas for improvement. One, entering the restaurant is very awkward. Where is the maitre d' stand? When we walked in, it felt like we were intruding on the other diners. Two, while most dishes were delicious, there were quite a few that were too salty which detracted from their enjoyment. Three, while the service was good, the staff could use more training. For example, we were not offered the wine list and we wish to have heard the story behind each dish instead of just the list of ingredients. Overall, we did enjoy our time here and do recommend it."

"From the moment you step into this exceptional restaurant, you know you're in for something special. The atmosphere is warm yet refined, with every detail thoughtfully curated to create a welcoming and intimate dining experience. But what truly sets this place apart is the extraordinary food.
The menu is a masterpiece in itself — a harmonious blend of creativity, tradition, and precision. Each dish is a celebration of flavor, expertly balancing bold and subtle notes with perfect structure and finesse. The ingredients are clearly of the highest quality, and the seasonal selections highlight the chef's deep respect for fresh, local produce.
What impressed me most was the meticulous attention to the composition of each plate. The textures — whether crisp, creamy, tender, or crunchy — are perfectly aligned, creating a multi-dimensional taste experience that lingers long after the last bite. Every course flows into the next with thoughtful rhythm, showcasing not just culinary skill, but true artistry.
The service was attentive and knowledgeable, adding another layer of excellence to the evening.
This restaurant is more than just a place to eat — it's a destination for anyone who truly appreciates the craft of fine dining. I left inspired, satisfied, and already planning my next visit."

"NY eve dinner in one of (if not the best) restaurants in Trier
Great and efficient service, charming ambience in front of Mosel river.
Each dish was deliciously prepared with fresh products and not too many ingredients (unnecessary complications as often happen in other Michelin star restaurants) with focus on the product itself
Wine pairing was nice but without big names (focused on Mosel area wines) which could improved but it’s a question of personal taste. Subjectively I would prefer some French wines instead but as said it’s just my humble opinion
This restaurant definitely worth to pay a visit
Thanks to service team and the chef"
