Reviews Summary

Zum Albrecht Dürer Haus receives praise for its authentic Franconian cuisine, friendly service, and charming traditional atmosphere, especially from those enjoying the outdoor seating with views. While most visitors find the food delicious and filling, a few reviews mention dishes being average or slightly dry, and one particularly negative experience involved receiving a cold, previously served pizza. Despite minor complaints, many consider it a favorite and highly recommend it for a taste of Nuremberg.

"Excellent food and views of the front square. We sat outdoors and was a bit chilly but they provided blankets. Service was great and the food was absolutely delicious.

They have indoors seating as well.

Highly highly recommend this restaurant and if possible sit outdoors to enjoy the views."

Jason Jong

"The restaurant is located in a realy beautiful location although inside the restaurant there is nothing really special, more for people that prefer simplicity. The stuff are friendly and nice but it takes quite some time for them to deliver as there is just not enough stuff. The food was good but not amazing. Overall experience was pleasant."

Evgeny Moss

"We came just after 20:00 on a saturday, in the hope some people would be done with dinner. Lucky enough a table had just come free. But very popular and busy place for sure.
Service was decent. Drinks were good. Food was okay. I've been here 6 years earlier , but I remember a way better Schnitzel and kartoffelsalat. This was a bit mediocre for German standards in my opinion. Bit dry Schnitzel, kartoffelsalat lacked taste.
Definitely not bad though."

A Complete Guide for Nuremberg at Christmas Time

Zum Albrecht Dürer Haus is in a quaint historic old town house opposite the Dürer Haus Museum and beneath the castle in a lovely part of Nuremberg old town. The service was incredibly friendly and even though we arrived before their kitchen opened, they made sure we left with full tummies from items that didn’t need to be cooked on their grill (ahem – charcuterie board and pretzels anyone?!). You also can’t beat the views of the Albrecht Dürer Square (Am Tiergärtnertor) and it’s beautiful Christmas tree from the second story of this little establishment.

Nuremberg with Kids and Teenagers

Welcome to Dürer-Haus” is how Agnes Dürer, the painter’s wife and landlady of the “Albrecht-Dürer-Haus”, welcomes young visitors. The children listen to the stories of the costumed-clad tour guide spanning six museum rooms. For example, she explains how difficult it is to make a fire in the kitchen and how to prepare a delicious “Blamensir” – made from almond milk, lard and rice flour.
