Reviews Summary

Restaurant Wurzelwerk is praised for its innovative regional cuisine, high-quality ingredients, and extensive wine selection. Many diners highlight the attentive and friendly service, as well as the creative signature cocktails. However, some reviews mention that certain dishes can be bland or overly decorated, and a few recent experiences noted a decline in service and food quality compared to past visits, with some finding the prices high for the overall enjoyment.

"A fantastic restaurant featuring regional food, beer and wine. The wiener schnitzel was the best I've had in my life, gnocchi was fantastic, and the soups were perfect fall/winter flavors. Their wine selection is huge and a celebration of regional varietals. Highly recommend the red Zweigelt and white Gruner Vetliner. Their nightly specials were also often intriguing. Special thanks to Matthias and Gabby, as well as bar manager Tobias and team members Joel and David. We loved their Earl Gray infused Hot Toddy, the perfect winter cocktail, and hazelnut liqueur, which was like Bavaria in a glass. They also had a wheelchair accessible table and elevator with ramp for the bathrooms downstairs."

"My recent visit to this restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was an absolute delight from start to finish! We had the pleasure of dining on the outdoor balcony, which offered a unique and lively ambiance right by a charming promenade. It was wonderful to enjoy our meal while soaking in the surroundings and the gentle bustle of passersby.

The wine selection was truly outstanding, featuring an impressive array from Austria, Germany, and even a lovely Portuguese option. As a wine enthusiast, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and variety available, and I particularly enjoyed exploring the menu to find the perfect pairings for my dishes. A highlight was the fantastic combination I discovered: the tender beef cheek paired beautifully with the Plansel Selecta Reserva from Portugal. Similarly, the trout dish was perfectly complemented by my choice of the German Joseph Hofstein Riesling – an excellent selection!

The food itself was nothing short of exquisite—each dish was clean, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We opted for the four-course menu, and while it was certainly a generous amount of food, every bite was savored. A standout dish for me was the grilled watermelon served alongside the meat; it was an incredibly innovative and delicious combination that left a lasting impression. Beyond our ordered courses, we were pleasantly surprised by a delightful amuse-bouche, and the unexpected complimentary chocolate with marshmallows was a playful and welcome treat after our chosen dessert. The staff, both waiters and waitresses, were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall wonderful dining experience.

As if the dinner wasn't enough, we also had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast during our stay at the hotel, and it was simply magnificent. The buffet spread was beyond compare, offering fresh-squeezed fruit juices, and even sparkling and white wines—a truly luxurious touch! Every ingredient felt incredibly fresh, and the extensive selection of diverse herbal teas was a delightful surprise.

This place truly offers a complete and unforgettable culinary journey. Highly recommended!"

"A very good place. You feel the freshness of the ingredients, the combination of structures and flavors, surprising at times, yet constantly water mouthing, the variety of dishes, attention to details, the service - everything made our experience memorable. Enough to say that it was so good, we came back for the second time while in Garnish. And it was very good again. The selection of wines was extensive.
Warmly recommend BBQ Style Ribs (with grilled watermelon) - full of taste and flavor, tartar - very creatively put together and having a great taste of meat, seasonal mushroom - put together very creatively blending tastes of the ingredients. Even roasted potatoes were outstanding.
Yes, must mention the Floweer Pot desert for its creativity, appearance and taste!
Good value for your money.
Highly recommend."
