Legend has it Bob and Mary travelled the world for 18 months in search of the best burger before bringing it back to Düsseldorf. With its two locations – one in the Altstadt and one in the Medienhafen – designed with hip interiors featuring bold green walls and hanging Edison bulbs, Bob & Mary’s is a welcome change of pace from the fancy European/Asian fusion that Düsseldorf does so well. And what about the meat of it?

The eponymous restaurateurs – who opened their inaugural venue in Düsseldorf in 2014 after scouring the world for the best burgers – now have three restaurants, all with hip, colourful interiors and great food. Insbesondere die saisonalen Burger mit Spargel oder Pilzen, als auch den Classic Cheeseburger finde ich klasse. Wenn ich mal keinen Burger mag nehme ich den Mary-loves-Beef-Salat mit bunter Salatmischung und Roastbeef - ich verzichte auf Dressing, bestelle aber IMMER noch ein naked medium Rindfleisch-Burgerpatty dazu (JA, das mache ich wirklich).
