What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
St. Bart is a beloved gastropub praised for its cozy atmosphere and hearty, delicious food, especially the Sunday roast and oysters. While many rave about the friendly service and excellent wine list, some find the food to be a bit pricey for the portion size, and service can occasionally be slow during peak times.
"St.Bart was great! We went on Sunday for the roast. Definitely recommended reservations or calling ahead to make sure they have room because this amazing meal draws a crowd. It was a fun dimly lit, cosy atmosphere! The servers were all nice and funny! The food was great! Oysters were pricey but honestly incredible so I can't even be mad about it 😅. My husband had one of the specials instead of the roast (bangers and mash), he said it was some of the best he's had. Overall I would recommend St. Bart and I look forward to visiting again when I'm in Berlin!"

"We were 4 people, on a Friday night out.
The food is fantastic, some of the best fries I’ve ever had. The portions are huge, we barely managed some appetizers and a main for each person.
The service is ok, but can be slow at times and not the most attentive throughout our seating."

"St Bart is fantastic for wholesome meals and delicious comfort food. Strongly recommend reserving a table as they can get very busy. From start to finish the service was excellent, honestly can say it was brilliant. I can’t wait to return and try the Sunday roast!"

Bites for the homesick Brit
While Kreuzberg’s ST. BART (Graefestr. 71) no longer does an official “Sunday Roast”, this cosy gastropub – staffed mostly by Australians – still serves whole roasted meats as a special every Sunday for everyone to dig in and share until supply runs out. Order smaller plates like veg on the side and voilà – your own DIY roast dinner. The meats and small plates at St Bart’s (small plates usually cost under €10) rotate frequently, with lamb shanks, joints of beef and whole chickens having featured in the past.
Where to Eat in Berlin
St. Bart is for Berlin what St. John is to London – a great gastropub serving simple and honest food made to share. After a long night out, we found a quiet corner inside and ordered the Scotch eggs (perfectly runny inside) and one each of the toasted bacon sandwich with house-made ketchup. A signature dish that has been on the menu since the opening.
[UPDATED 2021] Best Berlin Food Guide
With the explosive growth of the Berlin food scene, St. Bart Pub in Kreuzberg reminds us of what a great gastropub can be. Opened in August 2017, St. Bart Pub is owned by Australian-born Lee Thompson and his wife. Their neighbourhood restaurant offers a culinary homage to St. Bartholomew, patron of chefs and mountain climbers.
