Reviews Summary

Estelle Dining offers a unique modern American dining experience with standout pizzas and exceptional seasonal vegetables. While many praise the warm hospitality and great value, some reviews mention long wait times and dishes that didn't meet expectations for flavor or uniqueness. The wine selection and desserts are frequently highlighted as delicious.

"I've spent a few summers in Berlin largely looking for the best restaurants, especially those that serve pizza--until now I have not been so moved as to write a review.

Food: I had their most basic pie, mostly for comparison's sake but their more signature options and the new collaborative monday menu were both so enticing I can see myself trying every one, and their menu is by no means limited to pizza, in fact it feels misrepresentative to call it a pizza spot. Nonetheless, their sourdough crust is superb, (coming from New York this is especially important to me), their toppings were more flavorful and fresh than the half a dozen other pizzas I had here this month (most of which were about 5 euro more expensive), and the dessert was the best sweet treat I have had in at least a year. Straciatella, topped over with warm chocolate mousse with a sprinkling of roasted hazelnuts (assembled before my eyes)--it tastes even better than it sounds.
The wine selection was expansive, the cocktails blanced well between reliable and inventive, and the schnapps were also very well-rounded.

Service: At this point it is a bit of a trope for Americans to complain about European restaurant service. Believe me, I am no stranger to the modicum of truth behind this phenomenon. Having just recently had some ludicrous wait-time experiences, I was so impressed by my server and the rest of the staff this evening. I was very promptly accomodated, despite the fact that I had not made a reservation. The only available seating was outside, which is normally a hot commodity in July in Berlin, but it happened to be raining somewhat seriously today so I had little competition (though the awning did its job well)--still they promptly offered me a warm tea, and brought out warm blankets for me in case it got cold. These may seem small, but they are examples/elements of outstanding service that I haven't experienced at any of the more expensive, fine-dining restaurants elsewhere in Berlin that I have patronized, let alone anything at this price-point, which is shockingly low considering the quality. Perhaps my familiarity with NYC prices is part of this, but such outstanding dinner and dessert for under 30 euro is a marvelous discovery. I will be returning here as often as I can manage.

I started recommending Estelle to my local friends (and even some back home) halfway through my main course, I expect I will continue to sing its praises even as the memory of dessert fades months from now.

Lastly, I do not review many restaurants, and this may seem a sign of inexpertise. I would understand that skepticism, but on the other hand I ate dinner out almost every night for the last month, and (again) nowhere in Berlin sparked such passion, no other dining experience moved me enough to take the time to write a review."

"We reserved a table to celebrate our son's first month, choosing a menu for two that cost around 100 euros. The experience lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes, with about 45 minutes of waiting time between courses. The portions were small, and if I hadn't inquired with the waiter, it seems the wait time would have been even longer.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet our expectations, as the dishes lacked flavor and uniqueness. While we appreciated receiving a complimentary beer after raising our concerns about the long wait, it didn't compensate for our overall dissatisfaction with the service and the value of the food.
the experience did not live up to what we expected for a special celebration. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for good quality and prompt service."

Dante Salinas

"I was there on a weekend for brunch and it was very well visited. It is definitely more relaxed if you have made a reservation beforehand. The food and service was great!! Even when we were full we had to try the lemon poppy cake and it was worth it - The dessert was really delicious.

I can definitely recommend it for brunch and will definitely come back:)"

Though Berlin’s awash in Neapolitan pizza places, this sweet neighborhood spot bucks the trend with innovative topping combinations on a soft yet chewy sourdough crust. Sophisticated seasonal pizzas, such as charred broccoli and buffalo mozzarella or bacon with cauliflower and Swiss chard, please kids and adults alike, while the fine selection of cocktails, wine, and beer gives the adults even more to appreciate.

The Pizza Top List

This contemporary restaurant opened its doors in 2020 in northern Prenzlauer Berg and alongside a very heartfelt menu of small sharing dishes, Estelle also offers fantastic pizzas that are baked in an electric Gozney oven. Style is described as a “70% Neapolitan and 30% New York Style” and the relatively small pies are fairly non-traditional Italian style with a crispy crust, often with white toppings and vegetable-centric. A unique style that has to be experienced, not just for the pizza but also the other food and the extraordinarily lovely staff (also a marvelous family restaurant).

American dream: The best US food in Berlin

The seasonal vegetables and meat at this casual Prenzlauer Berg eatery might be German, but the vibes (and insanely friendly service) are pure US of A. Bring the whole family for veggie-forward sharing plates, Caesar salad and creatively topped wood-fired pizzas – like the triple-onion version with roasted, charred and pickled alliums. Finish off with a salted caramel ice cream sundae.

While we were recommended quite a few well-known and very good Berlin pizzerias, you can find these in any Berlin restaurant guide. Instead, we were intrigued by the somewhat offbeat menu at Estelle. With a beautiful interior designed by Lien Tran, the restaurant is all glass and wood set against light coral walls and terrazzo tables.
