A cross between a craft brewery, a hip outdoor beer garden (spring through fall only), and a casual indoor restaurant inside reused shipping containers, BRLO is a quintessential Berlin spot to spend an afternoon drinking and eating. If the weather's nice, grab a striped lounge chair outside and choose from a range of modern bar snacks at the beer garden, open every day except in winter; otherwise, head indoors for a choice of vegetable-focused mains along with meats cooked in their own smoker.

Right near Schöneberg’s favourite local hang-out, Park am Gleisdreieck, BRLO’s brewery, bar and restaurant trifecta serves up artisanal beers and a menu featuring novel vegetable dishes (think carrots and liquorice or celery and rhubarb) paired with regional meats. With a mix of different small-batch brews, such as a CBD-infused double IPA, it’s worth your while to get a flight of different beers to sample. What makes BRLO’s beers so unique?

Set inside 38 stacked shipping containers alongside Gleisdreieckpark in the Kreuzberg district, BRLO Brwhouse is a totally different kind of gastropub. There are excellent craft beers brewed on-site and smoked ribs and grilled burgers (with meat sourced from free-range farms), but there's also a strong focus on vegetables prepared in surprising ways, like baked cauliflower glazed with BRLO's pale ale, or fried chicory dressed in a smoked-tomato pesto. The industrial-style interior with metal walls and long wood tables is undoubtedly cool, but I prefer to hang out in the sprawling park-front beer garden, open spring to early fall.

A craft beer microbrewery, a huge beer garden, a restaurant with a fine-dining chef AND it’s inside 38 old shipping containers?. Of course this place had to make it on the list. BRLO Brwhouse is one of the most unique places to eat, offering some of the best food in Berlin - its menu is much more sophisticated than its exterior lets on, plus the man behind the concept decided to put vegetables in the starring role (although meat-eaters are more than catered for, too).

Located on the outskirts of Schönenberg, this craft bar is firmly placed in Bowie territory for any fans to peruse the sights of ‘The Starman’ and Iggy Pop by day and slip into the bar when the time is right. With a suitably bohemian/industrial vibe, this stowed away shipping container shack is a cracking culture, craft ale and quick snack coliseum. Brewed artisanally in small quantities, Helles, Pale Ale, and Weisse are available to order among a slew of specials.

This unique brewery and restaurant is made up of 38 up-cycled shipping containers, and is basically a craft beer playground. Choose from from one of their 20 taps, or from their extensive list of bottles and cans. Alongside their own BRLO beer core range from Helles, Pale Ale, German IPA, Porter and Berliner Weisse, you can expect to find a constantly rotating selection of local, national, and international beers from some of the leading craft beer brewers.

Probably one of the most unique pubs in Berlin, BRLO Brwhouse was constructed using shipping containers, giving it a cool industrial vibe that’s popular with both visitors and regulars alike. With a huge beer garden area outside, this place is also perfect for enjoying the hot summer days with a couple of beers. With around twenty beers rotating on tap, you’ll be spoilt for choice if you stop by here for a drink or two.

Forget everything you thought you knew about German drinking food. At the eatery run by craft brewery BRLO, vegetables take centre stage in thoughtful, contemporary preparations that just happen to taste great accompanied by hoppy pale ales. Chef Ben Pommer and his team have created an all-vegetarian menu tailor-made for sharing; a combination of large “mains”, smaller “sides” and pickled or fermented “on tops”.

It would be churlish not to mention Brlo, named after the Slavic term for Berlin, and arguably Berlin’s most famous creative beer brewer. The Brlo Brwhouse is a heady mix of brewery, restaurant, and bar, located in some repurposed shipping containers beside Gleisdreieck park. Along with the park itself, Brlo Brwhouse is part of a highly successful example of urban renewal in the German hauptstadt.

Founded in 2014, BRLO is one of Berlin’s big boys, though didn’t have a permanent home until the grand opening of their brewery and restaurant at Gleisdreieck in December 2016 – built out of 38 upcycled shipping containers. The following summer saw the grand opening of their vast beer garden, designed to resemble a hop plantation. To look at it’s very much a trendy, post-industrial vibe.

One of our favorite places for craft beer in Berlin, we’ve visited BRLO multiple times. They have a great outdoor space where you can easily spend hours just soaking up the sun, as well as quite an extensive selection of craft beer and even cider, with the rosé one being our top pick. Their BRHHOUSE has an excellent menu, with the food veering on the expensive side for some.

Taking the industrial aesthetic to the extreme, BRLO is located in a series of stacked railroad cars in Park am Gleisdreieck. The name comes from the original Slavic word for Berlin, but the innovative design is all Berlin. This slick space regularly hosts events, but people flock to it every day of the week for its high-quality beers and superb biergarten.

Having sufficiently gotten our fix of craft beer in Berlin, we scheduled only one additional stop for the Sunday afternoon over at BRLO. BRLO is a Berlin-based craft brewery with a setting that might be more familiar to craft beer drinkers who hail from industrial cities in the United States. They’re based right outside the Gleisdreieck station.

Further South-East near the ridiculously cool Neukolln, Berliner Berg is one of 2 gigantic breweries (along with BRLO, see below) that dominate the Berlin scene. Berliner Berg is worth a visit for the fun, family vibes and huge beer garden more so than the beer, which is still decent, but not necessarily superior to the corner shop bottles.

BRLO Brwhouse: Founded in 2017 and located in the middle of Berlin at Gleisdreieck Park, BRLO Brwhouse offers an impressive selection of its own house-brewed beer. The building also includes a restaurant with vegetable-focused gastronomy, giving customers the chance to experience tasty cuisine alongside their favorite craft beer.

If you are a recently-arrived tech worker new to Berlin, you will probably like this place - it is expat heaven. It will be expensive for Berlin standards - €6+ for a pint, but sometimes in the home of traditional beer you want a bitter IPA to quench your thirst, so it is worth it. The side bites are delicious and not too pricey.

Katharina, Christian and Michael have created a name for themselves in Berlin with their BRLO craft beer brand. So whether you order a Helles, Pale Ale, or Weisse, the beers are all brewed artisanally in small quantities. Now, the three founders have opened their first beer garden: the Brwhouse in the Park am Gleisdreieck.

If you’re a fan of craft beer, be sure to give BRLO a try, they even have a local brewery tour if you enjoy them. Brewdog is another favorable craft beer found at Spätis. They’re from Scotland, but launched their Berlin brewery a few years ago, making it their primary European home.

BRLO Brwhouse sits in a graffiti-covered industrial area of Berlin, built from black shipping containers behind tall iron gates. With 20 taps of craft beer brewed on site and both vegetarian and smoked-meat options, it’s a laid-back spot that reflects the city’s urban vibe.

If you’re open to a bougier option, BRLO BRWHOUSE is for you. Located in the lovely Gleisdreieck park, BRLO currently has a special offer for watching the EM. For 100 € you’ll get a table to watch the game, 10 liters of beer, popcorn, and pickles for up to 10 people.

Brlo is a brand-new craft beer bar on Schöneberger Straße 16. It combines restaurant and brewery and is located in a one-of-a-kind building constructed from 38 shipping containers. Their beers are brewed with artisanal qualities in small-scale batches.

Fortunately BRLO Brwhouse is more than just a pretty face though as you'll find around 20 BRLO beers on tap and excellent bar staff who will be more than happy to fill your glasses with hoppy goodness. One of the best pubs in Berlin.

BRLO is certainly one of the best-known Craft Beer breweries from Berlin. It was founded in 2014 and now has its own brewery with a really great restaurant at Gleisdreieck in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

It is not just my favorite micro brewery in Berlin, they also have my favorite beer garden in Berlin. During the summer, you can find me there almost every week. BRLO started in 2014.
