Right on the border of Görlitzer Park, a park well-known by locals, Annelies welcomes nearby coffee seekers who are also looking for a bite to eat. Annelies offers a lot more than coffee, where you’ll find all-day breakfast and lunch on offer like eggs, pancakes, and granola bowls.

The sister cafe to Distrikt Coffee in Mitte, Annelies is nice for anyone looking to have a scrumptious and decadent brunch in Kreuzberg. Their pancakes are fluffy and covered with maple-berry syrup, granola, and cultured cream. You experience a bit of a sugar rush afterwards if you’re past the ripe ole age of 25 (partially kidding, but I did get a sugar rush so. . .).

For brunch, annelies in Kreuzberg is up there for pancakes, but I also really like Love Deluxe in Neukölln. They have a good concept with Afro-Caribbean, Pacific Island and American influences all put together. They have an amazing beef shank sandwich, too – I think they’re a bit underrated.

Annelies: A monthly must to treat yourselves and meet with friends. Yes, there might be a queue — but it moves fast and it's always worth it. Get the Sausage, Egg & Cheese bun, the Buttermilk Pancakes, and those scrambled eggs on sourdough with smoked yolk + fennel kimchi.

As if our favourite Berlin restaurant, Lode & Stijn, was now offering breakfast: natural, product-focussed, intuitive. Inspiringly good dishes are prepared in a pleasingly uncomplicated way. We particularly love the bread pudding.
