"The food was good, the service attentive but the management was rigid and unflexible. That thoroughly ruined the experience. For unforeseen reasons we had fewer attendants than expected in the initial reservation. Legally they were in their right to charge fully for the shortfall, although many restaurants would have shown flexibility and a degree of generosity. What was unheard of though, was the fact that they refused to serve bread with the wine before we had ordered the full dinner. The explanation was that they wanted to avoid grease stains on their menu and felt that this was a measure to ensure a smooth and satisfying experience for the guests. The fact that this particular guest had both clean hands and a different view of a satisfying experience did not count and was flatly overruled by the owner. Together these two incidents left me wanting for a feeling of hospitality I would associate with a restaurant of this, and in fact of any, category. I won’t come back."
