Reviews Summary

Senequier is an iconic Saint-Tropez institution with a prime port-side location, celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and people-watching opportunities. While many praise the experience and its historical significance, be prepared for high prices and potentially slow service, especially during peak times. The food is generally good, with highlights including desserts, but some find it simple for the cost.

"A truly delightful dining experience! The menu offers a great selection with something for every taste, and the service was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Every detail throughout the dinner felt thoughtful and well-executed;a perfect blend of professionalism and warmth. Just one little miss, we asked for a burger without bacon and it was served with bacon."

"Go here for drinks before dinner. Watch the sunset, hang with locals and travelers, and enjoy the front row view of all the beautiful yachts. This place is a must. Grab some fries and a bottle of white wine and just relax. The food is solid but there are better dinner spots if you’re really into food.

We come here every year and the atmosphere is just amazing. Service might be slow but that’s because there are a lot of people all enjoying the same vibe as you."

Philip Sblendorio

"Great restaurant at a good spot. Looked great from the beginning so me and my wife decided to have diner here.

Food was delicious, we both had the rib-steak. I was really surprised by how fast it was done. Not even 10 minutes and it was already served. Service was 10/10, hard workers and really well coordinated (something I can appreciate). And they speak English very well.

Although it was pricy (€100+ per person). €59 for the rib-steak. It was a sweet experience and we enjoyed it a lot."

The 10 Must-Try Restaurants In Saint Tropez

Well located on the pictoresque old port, Café Senequier has been proudly greeting its customers since 1887. Attracting the rich and famous as well as passers by, it is the perfect pit stop to take in some of the atmosphere for which St Tropez is so well known, to do some yacht spotting and watch the world go by from the terrace. A selection of pattisseries are served all day, though do not expect too much change from a 50 note for a coffee and cake for two.

Saint-Tropez for wine lovers

Leisurely make your way down to the port and post up in one of the cherry-red chairs on the terrace of Café Sénéquier to people watch over a cappuccino and croissant before setting off on a wine tour around the region. Greeks planted the first vines here around 600 BC, and now there are more than 200 hectares of vineyards lining the peninsula’s plains and hills. In and around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, you’ll find more than 30 wineries that offer tastings, including rosé heavy-hitter Château Minuty, which has been run by the Matton family for four generations, and the ultra-modern Château Saint-Maur, which produces both its own wines and, more recently, has collaborated on La Fête du Rosé.

French food is one of my faves, so I decided to splurge and go to Senequier for a lazy brunch. Its easily one of the most well-known restaurants to see and be seen at in St. Tropez. I walked away with mixed feelings - negative about the slow and aloof service (although it did improve) and prices (40 euros/$45USD for an omelette - no thanks, even for a New Yorker that was crazy) but happy about the massive escargot (22 Euros for 6) I ended up getting.
