What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Voyageur Nissart is praised for its authentic Niçois cuisine and affordable, value-packed menus, making it a favorite among locals and discerning tourists alike. While many rave about the delicious food and friendly service, some reviews mention slow service or lack of printed menus. The cozy atmosphere and traditional recipes make it a must-visit for an authentic taste of Nice.
"Had a great, late Sunday dinner after a day at the Chagall museum and the beach. This is on a quiet street close to the train station and right across the street from our hotel (Paganini). The service was great and the food was wonderful. And it was very affordable and less costly than the touristy places on the main streets. The menu of the day was on the chalkboard and had several choices for each course. The pissaladiere and the Gambos Nicoise were very good."

"Traditional bistro dating back to 1908. The food is classic Niçoise. It's a great place to try local local dishes, like "pissaladière" (onion pizza) or "mer de can" (basil gnocchi). Everything we had was good, although not elaborate enough to be exciting. Service is relaxed, to put it politely."

"Good foods, nice and friendly staff.
Instead of heading to the crowded area with super expensive foods, here we can also get good food with acceptable price."

The best restaurants in Nice
No apologies for mentioning another traditionally Niçois establishment. It would indeed be daft to go to Nice and ignore the local food. It would also be daft, though easy, to overlook this modest establishment.
Nice: restaurant and market recommendations
Two Provencal places I liked on rue Alsace Lorraine were Saetone (closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights; don't remember about lunchtime) and Le Voyageur Nissart. They both get a lot of local business as well as some tourists from the many hotels in the area. Multi-course deals in the 20-30€ range.
Nice itineraries
Just a few moments away, the Voyageur Nissart (19 Rue Alsace-Lorraine, 0033 (0) 493 821960, menus from €15.90/£13.50) serves Niçois food for locals with pleasing modesty.
