The perfect spot for Italian dinner in Nice🙌 I was worried because reviews were bad but luckily everything was good- the place, atmosphere, food and drinks🍹 We were seated after few minutes of waiting(we didn’t reserve a table)☺️ 📍Gina, it’s right on the main square #southoffrance #frenchriviera #nicefrance #cotedazur #fyp France, Nice @RESTAURANT GINA

Word of advice when booking La Plongeoir in Nice. There are 2 restaurants next to each other. La Reserve is next to La Plongeoir. It has a rooftop. We booked that one thinking it was La Plongeoir. But there's only 4 tiny morsels to choose from in the La Reserve rooftop tapas menu. The view was still nice but the rooftop was giving fancy pub garden vibes. Both are nice but check properly. Reviews Summary

Chez Palmyre is celebrated for its authentic, traditional French cuisine and incredible value, particularly its three-course set menu. Diners rave about the delicious home-style cooking, the charming, intimate atmosphere, and the personalized service from a long-standing family establishment. While the cozy setting means tables can be close, most find it adds to the convivial experience, though reservations are highly recommended due to its popularity.

"Ambiance - Very traditional 3rd generation French restaurant. Eclectic interior decoration with old kitchen ware. A lot of French charm.
Service - was fast, courteous and efficient. We had lunch and dining room was run by the son. Dad was managing the kitchen.
Food - I believe they only offer 3 course menu. You have a choice of 3 different dishes for appetiser, plat and dessert.
Food was of high quality, home cook style and very delicious. You can taste the quality of the ingredient and also the skill of the chef.
Conclusion - We will definitely be back to the restaurant. We were told by the local that they change their menu every 2 weeks."

"The food is incredible, the price is super good related to the quality. Fast service, delicious food, friendly staff, home made wine. 100% recommended."

The Times

11 of the best restaurants in Nice

One of Nice’s original restaurants, on a street that’s four centuries old, Chez Palmyre has been serving classic local cuisine since 1926. The decor has changed little — wood panelling is paired with rough stone walls, while the retro countertop is reminiscent of cash payments in the old franc. The three-course set menu promises a bona fide taste of Nice as-was: beignets de sardines (fritters); tripes à la niçoise (offal stew); stuffed encornet (squid); ratatouille conjured from Nice’s Libération market.

Their menu has a lot of different dishes, but their Fresh Grilled Sardines are the best thing that they have to offer. This dish is served with olive tapenade and the roasted vegetables are a true Mediterranean delight.

Chez Palmyre* was run by a mother/daughter team since 1926, but it changed hands 10 years ago when the 93-year-old mother died and the 77-year-old daughter decided to finally hang up her apron. Now it’s chef Vincent, who’s been coming here since he was a child, who elevates grandma’s cuisine to something wonderful. *Three courses, lunch or dinner, just 22€.
