Reviews Summary
Grand Café Foy offers a stunning location overlooking Place Stanislas and generally well-regarded dishes, particularly seafood and steaks. However, some diners have noted inconsistent service and value for money, with occasional complaints about staff attentiveness and specific dish quality. Despite this, many appreciate the elegant ambiance, especially the outdoor terrace seating.
"The restaurant is really busy and you better reserve before going specially if you want to sit indoors
We were 8 7 of us took the Stanislas menu and one took the other menu
And she was not as lucky as us she ordered quiche loraine which was not good and the chicken was very ordinary
The rest of us really enjoyed the full course
Fillet was top shrimps were humongous and the octopus was very tender
The waiters were very busy to serve everyone but still smiling and hospitable
Always answering our quest about the menu
The indoor area is very crowded and noisy but the outdoor area is really refreshing that’s were we took our desert"

"Nice location, you can sit inside an elegant place inside the beautiful Stanislas square. A good dessert, but definitely not a good service. Customer’s attention doesn’t belong to this Café. The staff is not polite and they just fill the place to make money. The tea service is also not in line with the name and the elegance that is supposed to belong to such Café similar to other historical Café in Europe. Definitely a place I will not go back the next times I will be again in Nancy."

"The management of this restaurant is not very client friendly. We were directed to a table on the terrace next to the restaurant and then suddenly taken by a different manager to a table on the terrace in the square. He said it was due to the need for a table for seven people but that was a lie. Subsequently there the table we were at was filled with three people. The manager then told us it was due to the need to manage the waitstaff. This manager was very unfriendly and had no ability to care for the client.
The food was relatively good but the experience was not at all good due to the unfriendly nature of the management. The waiter did his best but I would not recommend going to this restaurant given their lack of consideration for the client."

Top 15 Gluten-Free Take Away Spots to Enjoy in Nancy
Having been won over by this place for a long time (the beauty of the place, the view of the beautiful Place Stan, the cuisine and in particular their famous raspberry tart and millefeuille), however I came less because I was tired of the menu (which never changed). For around 4 years, the Foy has been renewing itself and surprising us with a change of menu twice a year, dishes that look great, fine and tasty dishes alongside the classics of the Lorraine bistro, at least one vegetarian dish, gluten-free dishes and desserts (thank you 🙏), a new snack formula which I hope will be included in its gluten-free menu). And all at more than fair prices (in relation to the location and quality) (I read in the comments of the critics on the prices: so yes, the prices are increasing, everywhere and in everything, except the salaries! Is it really the fault of the restaurateurs who see their rents, charges and raw materials increase? Maybe they shouldn't pay their employees? In short, I leave few comments but when I see traders being criticized for that? quantity are there, it annoys me. The problem is political and does not come from your neighbor, colleague, craftsman, merchant or restaurateur! And now Le Grand Café Foy surprises me again! Audacity and renewal for the “new Foy”! The red gave way to pink, the ceiling was decorated with flowers, the gold remained to my great pleasure, the place became much brighter. A look that fits the times: a breath of nature and disrupted gender stereotypes (and no, pink is not a "girl's color" or kitsch!) But this pink gives the restaurant a powdery softness, a certain charm.

A taste of history in Nancy Lorraine
Sitting at Le Grand Café Foy on the corner of Place Stanislas, you can’t help thinking that the old Duke would certainly recognise the place if he saw it today. Much is unchanged, though the statue in the centre is no longer of Louis but of Stanislas. The first stone of this square was laid in a corner building in March 1752 by Grand Duke Ossolinski, and the inauguration of the square, took place on November 21, 1755.
