Reviews Summary
Le Bouchon des Cordeliers is highly praised for its authentic Lyonnais cuisine, with many diners highlighting the delicious traditional dishes and generous portions. The service is consistently noted as friendly, welcoming, and professional, even when the restaurant is busy. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few mention that food preparation can sometimes be slow, and service can occasionally feel a bit sarcastic or inattentive.
"Was lucky to get a lunch reservation, just selected this bouchon based off the amount of reviews of Google and it did not disappoint. When I arrived and see many of the tables occupied by French speaking people I knew i made the right choice. The food was out of this world, classic Lyonnais bluchon dishes made to perfection. And the kindest, nicest staff of any any restaurant I've been to in France"

"Fabulous food. L’ouef en meurette was sensational. The quennelle with the bisque was very good and the Rhum Baba was excellent. Special mention to the Praline Tart; second best we’ve had in Lyon and comfortably better than 3rd place!"
Martin
"A nice restaurant serving local fare. About €20 per main with the option to have a set at €32 which includes an additional starter and dessert – essentially you're getting a dessert for free with the set, since the starters average about €12. Fantastic food that was bursting with flavour, and we ordered a variety to share. An easy first place would be the pork tenderloin, which was tasty and multi-layered in flavour. The food can take quite a while to arrive however, which may also just be a norm based on local culture."

Whether sitting amid the mahogany interiors of Café Comptoir Abel or the more contemporary stylings of Le Bouchon des Cordeliers, diners should expect punchy flavours at every turn. Onion, butter and offal dominate menus at these family-owned spots, where dishes are often served with a carafe of local wine.

11 Amazing Restaurants in Lyon France + Cafes & Bars!
Located just next door to Comptoir Brunet, it would be hard to choose which one of these Lyon Bouchons to try (so you should try them both!). The two restaurants are very different with Coredeliers being much more modern both in interior and in the style of their dishes. Although you will find all of the classics on their menu, this restaurant is definitely more elevated and experimental than some of the other more old-school Bouchon in Lyon.

Best Quenelles in Lyon, France
At Le Bouchon des Cordeliers (The Cordeliers Cork), the Lyonnaise quenelle made with pike is served with a delicious lobster sauce. The quenelle is cooked until it is well-done, but not overcooked. While it may not be as light, fluffy, and delicate as some other quenelles, it is still nicely prepared.
