What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Le Lion Bossu offers a charming dining experience in a historic setting, praised for its high-quality French cuisine and attentive service. While many diners rave about flavorful dishes like the filet de bœuf with foie gras ravioli, some have noted occasional slow service due to understaffing and found some modern dessert options less appealing than classic choices.
"Fantastic dinner, the food was amazing and the wine too. We sat outside on the terrace which was lovely! Very friendly staff… this is the perfect location to enjoy a long, cozy dinner in the evening bliss."
Armida Meursing
"I enjoyed the overall experience here. Food was surprising in many ways as the English translations didn't fully let us understand what we were eating beforehand! The egg in the cheaper set menu was excellent!
Service was slightly slow - as the dining room was understaffed with one waiter and one server.
Not necessarily value for money but an interesting visit!"

"The four of us had a fabulous meal here.
I recommend this place. Every dish was well presented with beautiful flavours. Accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked and as delicious as the fish."

An Improbable Foodies Destination – Lille
But a woman cannot live on lapin aux pruneaux and fried potatoes alone. On my latest visit, I opted for Le Lion Bossu (The Hunchback Lion), one of the mainstays of the old town’s gastronomic scene. Here, in a seventeenth century townhouse at the corner of the Place du Lion d’Or (Golden Lion Square), husband and wife team Laurence and Pascal Coué have been welcoming diners since 1989.

Perched at the second floor of a red brick building with Le Lion Bossu in yellow and perhaps bold is spotted from a distance. I wouldn’t expect it to be a restaurant, instead I would suspect it as an Art gallery.
