Reviews Summary

Loiseau des Ducs is celebrated for its inventive and flavorful five-course menus, exquisite wine pairings, and impeccable service within a refined, historic setting. However, some diners have noted significant delays and small portion sizes, leading to disappointment despite the high quality of the food and attentive staff.

"Wonderful experience! We took the Five course menu, everything is just outstanding and just worth the trip! Kitchen is inventive, service is perfect and the old building in the city center are all making a visit here a must!"

Liss Ambres

"We had a truly great meal here. The flavors were divine. From the first bite, you know you've arrived at a great French restaurant. Our waitress was amazing. She also picked all of the wines to go with the tasting menu. The fish was cooked perfectly, with almost a steak-like texture. The nettle sauce that came with it was really amazing and I wanted to get every last drop. The tempura artichokes were also fabulous."

Chris McMeen

"September 2024
Compared to other restaurants this is not a cheap one. Probably because it is located in a hotel. A 2 star restaurant not far away has almost similar pricing. €5 for a half bottle of water .. Staff is very strict, little stiff. People eating this night were at least 80% NOT french. I had the Talmay menu. Food is good and really well prepared, for the price it could be a bit more 'spectacular' for combinations and ingredients."

Loiseau des Ducs offers exquisite cooking in unstuffy and understated surroundings within a 16th century building off Place de la Libération. Menus change but could include duckling with beetroot and butternut squash, or pan-fried pollock with a delicate lemongrass sauce. For €59 for four courses of Michelin-starred loveliness, it’s very good value for this level of cooking.

Dijon – much more than mustard

Classically orientated, this is, like the Loiseau des Vignes in Beaune, an outpost of the late Bernard Loiseau’s operation at La Côte d’Or in nearby-ish Saulieu. Unusually, they offer wines by the glass from bottles stored in Enomatic preservers. Quite adventurous for a restaurant of this ilk.
